I am acting like I own a modded camaro that I made my own, pure and simple, something that you could have easily done but I guess that was not your intention. My car is modded in performance and appearance, complete new paint, hood, spoiler, pretty much everything, not just performance mods so it is certainly a one of a kind looking camaro. That AGAIN, was my point, there is SO MUCH you can do with the camaros to make them your own, it just seems silly to bail on the car for the reasons you list but again, they are your reasons and thats all that counts. If I wanted to buy a vette that had anywhere near the performance level of my camaro I would have to spend $120,000 and get the ZR1. Local dealer has two 2013 ZL1 camaros for $57K. You may want to try to expand your horizons and travel a bit to get a car. Hell, driving up to Montana to save $12K!!! A ZR1 for $40K under list price with only 10K miles, I wouldn't touch that one with a 50 foot pole, but hey, its your cash. Would rather spend my money smart then GET A DEAL. Good luck, sorry if I offended you trying to show you how endless the options are to make your camaro unique in a crowd of camaros.
YOU were right! The MSRP of a new ZL1 is 67,005. So I guess the 66,000 is a good deal. Found one in upper 65 range. Thats the only one around here. So, I'm back with you! LINKS!
![]() Again, expand your horizons and save $12K!!! http://www.citymotor.com/searchnew.a...t&model=Camaro Drove by and looked at both of these today...... You could fly up for less then $1000 and drive it home and save $10,000 off your local prices. That is spending your money smart!!!

I mean I had to look and make sure you didn't live in Canada and weren't working off the conversion there, because anyone, let me say that again, anyone who pays $67,000 for a ZL1 is a moron. They plain just don't cost that much, that's not the MSRP, it's just not, not sure where at all you are coming up with that. But whatever.

There's a few vettes that I'd trade my Camaro for but IMO that one is NOT it. 1) hate verts 2) that color is disgusting. Otherwise grats on the vette! I've been contemplating selling mine for one so many damn times I may drive myself nuts over it. It would HAVE to be a JSB Z06 though.
Sorry to hear about you're paint issues. Luckily for me I haven't had any yet and I've owned mine since May of 09. You'll see scratches on a daily driven BLACK car. I guarantee if that vette you just bought was black it would be pretty bad. If you're OCD, don't own a black car. Period. Unless you're willing to spend hundreds of dollars on top notch products to keep it looking good (and protected) while getting bug guts, de-dusting it every, ect each time you're done driving it for the day. One way to prevent some scratches, water spotting, ect is to keep it waxed at all times. Wash it? Give it a full detail before you drive it.

.02 cents. havent had a issue with the paint but ok. (whats to say the vette wont have a similiar problem)(no idea). to common? unless you got the c7 vette. they are more common then.. mustangs. not seeing standing out a issue. i love my camaro. not caring about others. waving? i see some bikers wave. i see some on crotch rockets wave to harley riders. sometimes the other way around. i wave to other camaro's and recently saw a guy in that bad ass stationwagon caddy. i told him , "Nice ride" he said.. "no yours is a nice ride."!
good luck with the vette. i love the lines on vettes. (minus the 80-90's). and may the next guy who waves, use all 5 fingers! /wave

I didn't read all the posts but enough to see the trend. Seems to be like most non essential purchases. Either I did it because I wanted it or I did it to please others.
I spent a lot of time looking for what fit me and was sporty. My price range include corvettes, cts-v, Porsche etc. I got what I wanted a 1ss coupe. If I need to please others I need to justify my purchase, if I get rid of it I need to justify why I get rid of it. |

corvette are not that rare. there are 215,125 C6 corvettes produced 215,125 /
In eight years. You guys achieved that number in 3. The reason why the C6 was chunking 40,000 units in 07 was because the Camaro was taking a nap. Also, it is the sole reason Chevrolet kept going. 36,000 units in 06, and 08. Then, 09 dropped off with the reintro of the Camaro that decided to come back. This should show you something if you are intelligent. It means they pulled workers away from vette plants and positions to keep up with the unreal demand for the camaro. That means rushed product. The LS3? The corvette says your welcome.

I wasn't going to jump in, but couldn't take anymore! Why are you all still talking with the OP?
He has an answer for everything and likes nothing. Look at his posting history....hates the ZL1, GFX, blah, blah.....seriously! The OP claimed he was going to take an intermission earlier in this thread....I wish he had!
It's priced high. Then, everyone wants a camaro because it "looks cool." I got sucked in by that too. Then, you realize. The looks is all it has. Only pushing 10k vettes in a year, you can take incentives like that on them and price them high.[/QUOTE
Incentives for the hottest selling muscle car isn't going to happen. I wouldn't give incentives either if the car is selling faster than I expected like the camaro is doing. I feel they're only overpriced to ppl that value them by their price. You can say any car is over priced because the Bugatti is 2 million. I definitely don't see it being worth anywhere close to that . The for what ppl are willing to pay. |

I somewhat feel what you're saying and unlike some, I don't take offense... it's a car, and it's your opinion... I bought my Camaro because I wanted a performance car, but with a little one on the way, I still needed the back seat... that said, and this is just an observation... while the paint issue is a genuine gripe, the other two reasons seem like you crave attention... people aren't waving back, or you have to do this or that to stand out... who cares if you stand out? I own AR-15's, they're just like everyone else's... but I like mine... I own guitars and drums, most of them are just like a lot of other people's... but I like mine... because they're mine. I agree that there isn't the tighter knit camaraderie that seems to belong to Corvette owners, and there are a lot of passive Camaro owners who aren't like us on here... we pour our heart and souls into our cars (not to mention our paycheck) and yeah, it'd be cool to acknowledge each other on the road, but it's just not realistic... as you said, 40k Camaro's built a year means that there are a lot of people who just have one to have one and aren't concerned with acknowledging others. I didn't buy mine to be faster than this or that... I bought it because it's sexy, it's a nice ride, it has some balls, and I like it... the speed limit is 70, tops (around here) and if I do any racing it will be for personal enjoyment on a road course... I leave the professional racing to professionals, and if I were buying a car to take to the strip, it would've been a COPO.
Congrats on the Vette... I hope to have one someday, too. These are just my opinions; YMMV
