What did I do? I got an email telling me that a "traditional" cruise nite would have its last event after 19 years. I've been attending that event for the last 15 years, so I thought I'd better go to the last one. The reason it's come to an end is that the parking area is being taken over by a Wal-mart that's under construction.

But the Camaro was still on jackstands as I was finishing up the wiring for several things and still had the inner fenders out of the car. So I started swingin wrenches in a hurry, jumped into the shower and headed out for the cruise.

And then the rain started. Just a few drops as I arrived, but after 45 minutes we had some fairly heavy rain...just after I'd opened the hood, turned on the RGB headlight halos and Afterburner taillights.

Bear in mind that this is the high desert and we usually don't get this kinda weather in July...and the day before it'd been 99 and change without a cloud in the sky.

Anyway, there was a pretty darned good Camaro population there. 5 1st Gens and 6 5th Gens. Not bad at all.

I'll just add a coupla shots of my car and then put all of the photos on my own server when I'm thru editing them.

One last thing. On the way home, the Hurst short-throw shifter came loose somewhere. I was able to get it into 1st and then there was no selecting any other gear. So I drove home by running the motor up to 6 grand, then standing on the clutch as it lost speed, then do it all over again. Fortunately it was only 15 miles by surface streets, but it sure got tiresome. And I was waitin for the red & blue lights to come on behind me, but I guess I got lucky. It's sittin in the garage at the moment waitin for me to get the wrenches out again.

Found a bottle of Touch -Up Paint for my old Red Jewel Tintcoat SS, which I traded-in for the ZL1, aka THE DEVIL'S NIGHTMARE. Anyway, if you have a Red Jewel Tintcoat Camaro, PM with your name/address and I'll mail it to ya for FREE! Does me no good so instead of tossing it I thought somebody might want it. It's GM 1 #12346917 code 80 WA 301N. Lacquer Touch-up Paint. RED JEWEL TINTCOAT. still has plenty of paint, great for touching up rock chips.

Put in new dark premium mats. I love the gray interior but didn't realize that would include the carpets....and it is SUPER light. Even with my best efforts, the factory mats were already looking dirty within weeks.

where can i get the tail light bezels that are black? like my tailight has the chrome and there tinted, i would like to get them completely blacked out

Easy way remove and paint. I did mine ashen gray
