Is it safe to wax these rims with wax?

They are just painted with a clear coat on top. YES. Make sure the wax you use is clear coat safe. But with any wheel, make sure they are cool before you put anything on them. And for your own good test whatever product your going to use in a small area just in case

You should use a sealant instead of a wax.

Becky did you take the tires off to apply the sealant, and do you know how much the torque is needed to place the lug nuts back in place? TY

i didnt take tires off, its very easy to apply, and i believe its 140lb/ft

Torque on ZL1 wheels is 110 lbs. Its in the owners manual.
