drivers seat broken/ clicking

I was driving other day and went to pull my phone put of my pocket. It's kind of difficult to pull your phone out of your front pocket with the seat belt in the way and everything. I arched my back to get it and I heard a loud pop from inside my seat. The seat didn't fall or anything but it sounded like with the springs or whatever inside the seat. I can now sometimes hear a pop just under my shoulder blades if I hit a bump while driving.

Has anyone had this problem before? An idea of what is broken?

Also I saw there are two zippers up the back of the seat ( cloth seats) but I couldn't figure out how to unzip them to check out the problem.

Same thing just happened to mine after I left the dealer :-/. I was at the dealer because my carpet glue is coming up so they are replacing my vehicles carpet. I love this car but since last August when I purchased, I've had to get the car repainted due to clearcoat issues, had CEL for vent solenoid, the carpet issue and now the seat. So far no out of pocket costs but come on GM :-)

Also, I checked my seat so I know I have the same problem as you. If you lean your seat forward and then push up and pull down on the cloth on the bottom left most portion (facing the front of the car) the cloth should come loose from the clip. You can then reach the zipper. You only need to do one side to check. Hope that helps!

I brought mine to the dealer and they said the lumbar was shot. Ordered a new one and I'm just waiting for a time to get it installed now.

This could be completely different than what you mean but on my passenger seat (electronic) every once in a while, only when someone's sitting in it, after hitting a bump it will make a pop kind of sound. I finally figured out that it wasn't seated right or something with the seat adjustment. If I just move the seat forward or backwards a little bit it re-locks it in place. Could just be that. Anyway good luck.

Edit: Didn't see the "under my shoulder blades" part so it's probably not this.

brought my car to the dealer today and got the lumbar replaced. The seat felt great, comfortable, and supportive again. On my way home I stopped for gas, when I was getting back into my seat I heard "SNAP, SNAP, SNAP" and the lumbar broke again!
What's going on here?
