Nice install I am looking to do the same.
I have some Alpine Type R speakers and a 12'' sub in my basement with a 5 channel amp. The mods are never ending

Negative. Custom Sounds off San Pedro in San Antonio.

Install took about 10 hours....I guess. Dropped it off at 1pm and they called to say it was done the next day at 2pm. They closed at 7pm and were open at 10. So, I'm figuring total hours by that.

I also took video today. I'll see if I can get it posted soon.

The quality of the video is okay. The sound ok. The popping has to be the camera.

one thing I love about JL amps are when it says 250/1 or 500/1 you are getting a true 250 or 500 watts. Dam good amp and Dam good sub.

Thanks...agreed....did a good job.

Sound is great. I only wish I had a seperate knob for the base up front. Depending on the song, the bass might be high or low for the sub. I only wish I could control it separately.
Does the amp come w/ a remote module you can purchase separately? You may just wind up turning the gains lower on the amp and use the bass/EQ settings on the deck for more flexibility..

..also, they may not have set it correctly from the start..should 'clip' before max volume of the deck is reached(unless you are an SPL competitor..)

No remote module. It is set w/ the radio.
You might be able to purchase one separately.
It sounds pretty good...the quality of the camera video isn't all that great.

One thing I've noticed about this radio is that the sound plays differently from song to song. It all depends on how the song was ripped to the computer. At least, that is my experience so far. I might have one song that is PERFECT and the next is quieter and bass is REALLy low. Turning down the bass on the radio and up on the JL is an idea too.

In my last car, I had bass blockers in all the highs and ran ALL of my bass through the JL 10 and 12. That was the best combo I've had thus far. I'm going to fiddle with this one for a bit and see how it plays out.

I seem to recall a Rockford Fosgate amp I bought probably 6 years ago had a wired remote that you could run up to the driver's seat and mount along the transmission tunnel or something. I never used it because the deck I was using had separate sub outs and controls, but I thought it was a cool idea if you didn't have that. Wonder if there's any such thing for JL Audio amps.

Possibly. I hope there's something. I'd add it. I've found that some songs need it and some are already perfect.
