Old School Drag Term
Sorry, yeah I'm old. But on forums and websites, YouTube, etc. I see the term and headlines "ZL1 Gets Called Out On A Dig By a Blah Blah Blah Something or Another!"
From the interpretations that I can find, a so-called "dig" is a standing start. A "roll" is self explanatory and has always meant from a "rolling start". But this "dig" thing sounds very much to us old schoolers like you are trying to say "drag race". Why the term "dig" now and not "drag"?

That is street lingo.....drag racing is still drag racing, nothing to do with street racing (illegal & dangerous, drag racing legal and sanctioned).

No, it's not hard to figure out. But the meaning of "in-crowd" slang is not always obvious. Probably by direct intention (if you don't understand, you're not "with it" and not part of "those in the know"). I thought when you did any digging, you made the hole deeper and harder to get out of. Sorry, couldn't let a set-up like that get away .Norm |
