If your at a loss and have nothing good to put forth supporting your cause, you tear down the oppositions argument. Debate 101.
So does anyone have anything good and substaintial to add about the Reliability and Quality of these cars? or are we going to keep trying to punch holes in toyota and honda. |

Well I would rather see the numbers if they build it than go by your guess as to what it will price at or how it would perform

Well, don't consumer reports numbers suggest that on average toyota and honda have less frequency of repair?
But from what you tell me that's because of neglected maintenance, which is NOT how i would treat my Camaro, as it's a high performance vehicle. The fact that I can continue to neglect my toyota doesn't make me want it more. I'm sick of it anyway. |

Going from a 5L/stick mustang to v6/stick camaro
I'm considering a manual v6. My current daily driver is a 5L/stick mustang and I have a few questions for people who have driven both cars.
Is it easy to do burnouts and donuts with the v6? Also, how does the low rpm acceleration compare to the 5L stang? I do a lot of driving with the car around 2000 rpm and really like the instant pull I get from the 5.0 for passing. How does low rpm acceleration compare with a v6 camaro? I took a very short test drive in an auto/v6 and was not able to get a good feel for this. The engine did pull hard above 4000 rpm, about the same point a stock 5L gives up. |

If you're interested in that, stick with something cheaper. Burnouts simply demonstrate a cars inability to apply the power to the ground... from my standpoint, there is no greater insult.
Not to mention, 20" pirelli's are around 400$ each if you w/ an RS. Quote:
V8's will produce more torque at low RPM than NA 6's, but without knowing your current weight and power output it's a somewhat useless comparison. Quote:
In any given moment, the 6 is going to like to be rev'd more than an 8. That much is pretty standard... Quote:
I personally use the tap shifters all the time since they will pretty much hold a gear to redline. Fun as hell to autocross with it. |

My 1LT is faster than my buddies 2005 mustang GT... It feels like its built a lot better as well. To me it would be a no brainer. Camaro all the way.

For your question of how easy it is to quickly pass someone when you've been cruising at highway speeds: Quite. I'm not an especially aggressive driver, but in my Grand Am I would be muttering "come on please, a little faster, a little faster" to my car in a situation like that, while in the LT it goes exactly as fast as I ask it to. I haven't yet run into its limits, although since I'm still breaking it in I haven't tried to find them.

I just looked it up on car and driver and the 2005 GT is 5.9 sec 0-60. The V6 camaro is 6.0 sec 0-60. Not too far apart.
We've never flat out drag raced for very far or very long and maybe he isn't the best stick shift driver in the world. Its not like I kicked his ass...but I did beat him. |
