Launching on 18" MT DR's

I purchased a set of 18" reproduction Vette wheels and a set of Mickey Thompson Drag Radials. My car is a M6 with a Vortech V3 Supercharger as well as some other goodies. Anyone that can help me with your expertise on the best way to warm them up and what rpm to launch at and anything else you can think of would be greatly appreciated. Sorry if this was posted before!

Thanks Brian

18-22 psi, spin them till you see the smoke and roll out. I launched at 1200 and rolled into gas last time out. Track prep sucked so I had to. Next time I go will be with new ECS s/c with meth and new tune so it'll be a learning day again. What goodies you get?

15psi and heat them up good. They should dead hook on any decently prepped track at 600rwhp and below.

I dead hooked at 20psi. Crazy. Started at 16 and worked my way up in pressure until they spun.
And yeah...burnout, old healthy white smoke. Don't just haze em.

Brain I'm surprise you launch at only 1200. I was thinking of going 3000+ I'm going to camarofest in a couple of weeks and I hear they prep the track good at Luke Oil raceway. I wonder where rpm I should launch at there?

I've seen Syck SS leave at 4000 and higher with stock axles, not dumping the clutch of course. Any IRS M6 car even Vettes you need to roll out.

yup, just around 5000 rpm is where i leave at... best 60 ft was a 1.69... but i averaged low 1.7x's

Its all about feathering, if you dump the clutch thats when things break.

i run Nitto NT05r's and my magic number was 18psi. I was putting down 620whp...

I do pretty extensive burnouts to make sure they hook as I noticed inconsistant results if i didnt do them long enough. So i back into the water box and usually put on a good smoke show and then roll out of it a little bit.

But being turbo i need a lot of RPM at launch to help the turbos kick in faster.

Being blower - i would say 3500-4000 rpm and really play with that clutch on launch. Practice, practice, practice... thats the key. I probably made over 30 passes this year alone and everytime i improved. It really comes down to seat time and not getting too frustrated if you dont see results right away.

Heres my last pass with her... you can hear how much i am riding the clutch out.
