AZ property has already rebounded in most places. I bought super low and already made 110k in 3 months on one home. Sierra Vista isn't sand... thats Tucson and Phoenix. Its mountains with 85 degree weather pretty much year round. Next to an Army base.. the market never crashes for long. Paid off all debt and paid off my other 2 cars and have plenty left to put down on a ZL1. Know your market and losing $ on a home is for the uneducated investor. Investing into car is 99% of the time a losing investment, but its a fun addiction. And yes you only live once.

Cash.IMHO There is nothing wrong with a high car payment especially if you really want the car and can't figure out any other way to do it. The only thing that I found out with myself with a high car payment is that after the newness of the car wears off you are still stuck with the high car payment and that can rapidly become extremely irritating---Especially as the months and years go by and newer models keep coming. Just remember I'm not trying to preach and this is just IMHO

This is what I used to run into when I was younger. I try my best to keep my payment as low as possible. You don't know what your financial situation will be in 3-6 years. I hate finding myself in a situation where I can no longer afford a High payment and I have to trade my Viper in for Prius.

Good feedback in this thread. Somehow I am going to make this work (without selling the farm). My biggest dilemma will be storage!

I'm just holding out a little longer to hear of any color or option change for '15. You all have no idea how tempted I am to start shopping for a zl1 now.

Edit: Mark-up? MSRP? What are those haha???!!??

If 15' is the last model year you may see some sort of special edition.

It has been confirmed that the 5th gen will last until '15 model year? I've seen some comments on here that next year will be the last.

I don't have a payment because I don't own one obviopusly. But I intend to put 30K down and pass on the upgraded stereo and navigation. Build it usually puts me around the mid 50's range. Local matches are around $58K. So it looks like I'll be financing a little over $30K.

^Good possibility. I want to keep mine simple. Unfortunately my funding will be tight, and I definitely want the recaros with my order. I even said that I'd forego the suede option so that I could fit in the recaros. A special edition or a something along the lines of "Track Pack" or even a Carbon Fiber" edition will definitely price this thing out of my reach.

Yea that's my scheme as well. I'm ashamed to think that my down payment might be enough to bag a 1SS whole!

I don't see chevy axing the zl1 before the end of the 5th gen's run, so I think that it'll be back for '15...but who knows.

Man all these ballers over here paying straight cash for the thing.

Unless you can't get 0% financing, what exactly is the point of paying cash? And if you got 55k in your savings that you can just buy a car with I really doubt your credit is that bad that you can't get 0%.

Even with a shitty sub 1% interest rate on savings accounts you can make more money that way than just dumping 55k on the spot.

Hell smart investing of that cash over 6 years will net you even more.

Most 0% financing is only for 1- 3 years. 5-6 years is usually 3% at best with perfect credit. The 0% offers for long term are usually only for the crap cars they can't move. AKA Minivan or lower models. I've never seen a 0% offer on any special car like a Zl1, GT500, Z06, Viper.... they don't need to. There are exceptions.

2 year loan at 0% is $2,416 a month on a 58k car or $1611 a month for 3 years. Anyone know if the deal applies to the ZL1? I'd be surpised if it did. Usually it applies to the lower models and they don't state that on the add so you are forced to find out at the dealer.
