Grinding/Scraping noise under car...>=[
Does anyone ever hear a grinding noise under the car when they first turn the car on, in the cold it would make the noise, so I thought it was because it was cold but in the summer time it did it too, it would make noise when I turn the car on, then go away then come back.
Now I even hear it sometimes when I'm driving.... I took it to the dealers but the sound never happens when its there >=[ They said they checked all brake fluid and ac stuff, and blah blah blah but nothing  I have a 2012 lt/rs.

Have you determined what you are doing when it occurs? ie: accelerating, braking, turning, etc.
If you aren't moving at all, then it would be engine or transmission related. You need to gather as much information as possible to help narrow down the possible causes. |

mine does it some time too. i notice it when i first start the car and reverse right. It is only for those first few seconds that it does it then it goes away. dealer said most likely suspension. I never got around to getting it replaced though

Do you ever hear it when the transmission is at proper operating temps? Not sure about the v6, but the SS M6 transmission is noisy and notchy until at temp.

In the dead of winter after driving along a well sanded road, as I pulled into a parking spot I noticed a grinding noise that sound like metal-on-metal coming from the right rear wheel. Had the car towed to the dealership, by time the car was unhooked from the wrecker and rolled into the service dept the noise was gone. The service department could find nothing wrong, nor damage, they did think it was a rock stuck in the brake caliper that shook-out.

It happens on and off and happens while I drive too... I just don't want it to b a on going noise even my friends can hear it from the outside.

manual transmission? Mine does this at times too. I suppose its normal.
