I personally changed over to all season performance tires. Nitto Motivo excellent grip for an all season tire and rated for 60k miles

I too switched to the Nitto Motivo! Love them, much better traction on wet pavement than the stock Pirellis. Less road noise as well!

I have 31k on my OEM's and they are some hard miles. Tons of burnouts, dyno pulls and many track passes. I have a new full set going on this weekend. They hold up just fine in my book.

I got 26,000 on my backs before I replaced them. Fronts are still there at 29,000 but they might be going soon!

Put a 3.91 rear end in and you will eat them even faster. Mine made 11K. Moved over to Vredstiens on the rear.

More Info: Uniform Tire Quality Grading (UTQG) Uniform Tire Quality Grading is a relative comparison system. Tires are graded by manufacturers in three areas: treadwear, traction and temperature.

The treadwear grade is a comparative rating based on the wear of a tire when tested carefully under controlled conditions. For example, a tire graded 400 should have its useful tread last twice as long as a tire graded 200. Treadwear grades are only valid for comparisons within a manufacturer's product line.

Traction grades represent the tire's ability to stop on wet pavement as measured under controlled conditions on asphalt and concrete test surfaces. As of 1997, the traction grades from highest to lowest are "AA","A","B" and "C". The grades do not take into consideration the cornering or turning performance of a tire.

Temperature grades represent a tire's resistance to heat and its ability to dissipate heat when tested under controlled laboratory test conditions. The grades from highest to lowest are "A","B" and "C" . The grade "C" corresponds to the minimum performance required by federal safety standard.

I just saw this for the threads on our tires:

CHECK TIRES THREAD DEPTH

GREEN = 8/32 or Greater
YELLOW = 7/32 to 4/32
RED = 3/32 or Less

RickRay gave me this awesome list when I was asking around. I've only got 17k on my stock Pirelis and they are SO BALD. right now, my top pick for balance between price, longevity, and performance is the Goodyear Eagle GT. Any other input is welcome!

Also running Toyo Proxes. Pirelli's lasted barely 30K. Toyo's are nice, not as grippy or quiet but ride pretty good and are SUPPOSEDLY rated for 45K.

I have 16K Miles on my 2011 SS/M6

The fronts are fine.. The backs look like the bald head of the guy Benny Hill used to slap all the time(I was told that was his father).. Anyway.. I honestly can say with the exceptions of a few slides around corners etc.. I have never done any burnouts in this car. These tires are thumbs down the worst I have ever experienced. If someone gave me a free set of new P Zero's i would throw them off a cliff..

I worked very hard to replace my 21s and ended up just paying the 2100 for Pirellis. If you have a Discount Tire store near you, they will price match any tire you can buy. So if you get a price from Tire Rack, they will match it and they will add insurance and all the stuff like tire checks and rotations that come from them.

Also, you will have trouble finding a place that can change your tires because of the size and they can do it.

Not to argue, but I have actually taken my to a road track and was very hard on them and I had no issues. I got 30k out of them. I would think that something is wrong. However, for what they cost, I would not blame you for never getting them again.

I will note though that no matter the cost they are only rated for about 18k so at 16 you may just have worn them out. They are not high mileage tires at all.
