Not sure if it is BS, but a local shop I went into to get the Scosche or Alpine piece said that GM is not letting the aftermarket companies get the software they need to make the pieces work properly. I hope he is wrong!

I was told that last week. The shop I went to does a majority of the audio upgrades and tint for the dealers in the area, so I figure they would know.

I have had a Scosche kit for the last 1.5 years in my 2012 1 LT and I have had no issues with the kit as far as remote range, tire sensor issues and any of the other issues some people have had with the kit.
I don't believe that your installer has the correct information as to GM not letting aftermarket manufacturers get the "factory" software. What is in the car is not rocket science, and most manufacturers can reverse engineer a product to work with the factory systems. |
