Epicly bad ass!!! Do you know about the DKM Matcho T/A's? I know the Meacham brothers that built them. I had an N/A one a million years ago and my buddy had a TT one that was by FAR the fastest car of it's time. I think the second Smokey & the Bandit they used a Matcho T/A with the large graphic removed cause they needed something that could really spin the tires.

Here is the TA - more photos on the thread in member journals. APG TT system should make this even more unique. Just hope all pieces fit with different nose and all the extra bracing beneath for the t-tops (those are being cut this week).

With your being local, if any fab work or modifications to the kit are needed, I'm sure AGP/CPR will get it taken car of. Then again, I doubt anything would need to change.

how about custom pipe to move air filter to fog light opening for cold air right on to the filter

Been there, done that, lost power. If you want to do it, go for it. I'm sure tons of shops can do that. AGP tested all sorts of filter locations, etc and just running extra piping up to the front or to "cold" air locations just cost power. The cold air scoops and large intercooler have IATs 5-8F above ambient already.

That's not exactly right. In testing we did get a consistent 1% gain in power by running cold air intakes. But the down sides of running all that piping, limiting front tire size, and very significant cost increase is clearly not justified by a 1% increase. Running just a quarter of a pound more boost will give similar gains. It's just not worth 'stepping over dollars to pick up dimes' in a setup that has soooo much power on tap, so easily. The intercooler most the time sits right about 95% efficient. |

How much horsepower do you think those parts will cost you? Or, in other words, if the same turbos were put on the same motor (416ci), but with the stock 6L80 and rear, what would it put down on 93 pump gas?

93 pump gas would be your limitation.. I'd definitely either drop methanol on it or race gas tune so you can take it up.
My 417ci is 10.6:1, so we'll be living on C16 and estimated boost levels in the 22-25psi range. We are looking for 850-900rwhp through the unlocked TH400 (~1200 or so to FW) before we turn on the giggle juice. As per the actual parts, the Dana 60 and axles are heavier than factory, the carbon fiber shaft weighs next to nothing (Only weight at ends for the billet yokes). So there will be a negative effect on shown HP, but brute strength is the gain. |
