When will 2014 aftermarket parts be available?
With the new year model hitting the dealers now, how long will I have to wait for the aftermarket parts like headlights and taillights? I ordered a 2013 2SS 1LE w/o RS thinking I'll put in aftermarket lights instead. But after the order was placed my dealer told me it will be a 2014 because they stopped making the '13 and told me I couldn't alter the order at all. Had I known it would be a '14 I would have just gotten the RS package included.

Get your deposit back and find a RS then. It doesn't take a long time for the after market stuff to hit but it won't be in the next month I'd say.

You ordered a 13 and they are getting you a 14? You can cancel that order. And go look for a leftover 13.

I would have just found a '13 originally but the exact car I want doesn't exist on the west coast (according to the dealer). So I figured I would just order the exact car I want since there's no extra cost. Anyway I like the '14, I just wish I had the RS lights with it.

if you really want the RS lights and are happy with a '14, cancel the order with the dealer and tell them to order what you want. You originally wanted a '13 and it sounds like they went ahead and ordered you a '14 without telling you first. You have every right to change that order to include the RS.

Seems like that dealer is dictating the sale, glad I'm on the east coast.

Cancel everything. Go find you a different dealership. No need to order 2013 they are everywhere here in the Best Coast.

If the order hasn't been accepted yet by Oshawa then you should be able to make modifications to it. If they have given you a production date then it might be too late. It all depends on your order status.

Dave Smith Motors of Kellogg, ID tried the same spiel with me: Took $1000 deposit for my factory order placed 4/15/2012. I always wanted to order a car from the factory, so I even asked is there still time to order a 2012 Camaro, convertible, 2SS/RS Convertible?
I was assured they could, after a month, I call asking order status........salesman "yeah, found out they stopped 2012 production, more than welcome to pick one out from the lot or go with a 2013".... Given 2012 was the last year for Imperial Blue Metallic (IBM) and I hadn't seen the new 2013 blue ray color, I wanted the 2012. Screw the "my link crap" who needs it. Anyways, found one online, thanks to my days working at GM customer service in Portland, OR. Found car you see on my avatar in Denver, CO, flew out there and drove it back to OR. That trip was 2240 miles, with a few detours of my car's total 6800 miles, ha. Get what you want and don't let the bastards grind you down. |
