Just don't put it.
I bought my car in sept 2012, so far got only one ticket for not having a front plate and it got dismissed so it's fine.
in cali they are not that strict about it.

I actually got a ticket placed on my windshield of a parking lot for not having the front license plate. I live in So Cal as well. It was right before Christmas too of 2012....

OT: I bought the JacFab license plate mount. Uses preexisting screw locations to bolt up. No drilling and no need for fasteners.

I never installed mine and in Texas it is required. I got pulled over for speeding but nothing was said about missing the front plate. Been lucky I guess.

I've also got the electric Show N Go license plate like SSGUNNER. I got the Altec one from Amazon. Install was very easy; took less than 20 minutes. Now these plates have some issues. My friend got one and it stopped working after the first wash. Problem was water went into the small electric motor powering the plate. So I protect it well when I wash the car, and so far I've had no issues with it.

Here is a small video of how it works on my car:

PM me if you need any help during its installation if you choose to go with this product

I have the JacFab plate bracket bent to the contour of the front end. No drilling. 2 bolts to R&R in 1 minute. I am lowered 1" and the only thing I scrape is the bottom front of the plate holder on steep inclines. I see you are in the L.A. area and LAPD usually have better things to do than look at front license plates. However where I live, in the La Canada/Montrose area I am surrounded by Glendale, Burbank, Pasadena PD and county Sheriff and they will pull you over. I don't need the hassle. Good luck with your decision.

Throw it in the trunk and tell them you had a car show and forgot to put it back on. Mine is sitting in the cargo net.

Damn thank you everyone for the replies. Since I live in a heavily populated los angeles area, I will just hold off my front plate.. Hopefully the LAPD or sheriffs wont catch me riding dirty lol.

Same here... Purchased some felt from Lowes (The kind you would put under chair feet) and put it on the back to prevent any scratching. Secure and No Holes! Hopefully Ohio will abolish the whole front plate law.

They would have to be really bored. And besides with all the out of state tourists in LA they would have to catch your back plate before turning around and nailing you for a fix it ticket.

Here I have had the popo look straight at me and even wave and keep moving...it's a front plate. Your not speeding, driving recklessly, or anything that would cause a danger to the general public.

Really simple. It is four screws underneath the bumper, just make sure you have it fully displayed (out where you want it and level), mark where you are to drill the holes and no muss, no fuss. There is a lot of extra room on the bracket, the holes are actually slots, so you can adjust it as you see fit.

My first one broke, the spring wouldn't spring back and the place sent me another one.
