I hate it when people stare me down everywhere I go, I feel like I'm being watched.
Also, it seems like people are always getting up next to me at redlights and revving their engines, and try to run me down on the road to get my attention.
Maybe they need help? Oh well.
LOL

Rex, I have the complete opposite problem. NO BODY will mess with me. Not that I go around trying to race people, but seriously, I don't get challenged hardly ever. I think I can count on one hand the amount of times someone has tried to race me since I bought my Z in January.

Good luck!
just a fyi, Fisker isn't answering the phone because they are no longer in business

Love my car, love my car, love my car...

That being stated, yeah, there are a couple of quality issues that bug me. Thing drives like a champ, handles great, no complaints from a functionality stand point. But the paint leaves a little to be desired, I got over that. then the hood and trunk were misaligned. That bothered me, I took it in, they damaged more paint on the fender fixing the hood and didn't fix the trunk, but I'll take that up with my dealer. And then the plastic molding on the A pillars, I guess they are called, interior anyway, are pealing up.

And the drivers side door squeaks when it closes and seems to be sagging already.

Other than that, thing is, I love the car so much that most of that doesn't bother me all that much.

I laugh every time I see somebody say this. The body and interior of your "$65,000 dollar car" isn't any different than an LT owner's $24k car. All the extra cash you paid for was for handling and performance.

I know there are many trying to preserve your cars, but the only way to find out about the quality of it mechanically is to drive it. This way whatever problems arise can be fixed under warranty. If you never cross the 36,000 mile threshold within 3 years and a problem arises it will be an out of pocket expense or 100,000 5 years if powertrain related. I've had my car since 2/9/13 and already have 18,000 miles on it. I guess I'm driving the problems out into the open.

Let me start, my first zl1 had paint defects & panel alignment issues, my second one sounds like a diesel motor, sc replaced at 200 miles & a four wheel alignment needed to be done since the car pulled to the left.
basically you had a QC issue at the plant form the sound of it. I would really look it over and take it to a good service department not just any service department.

I had 3 issues with mine it drips just a tad fluid onto the belly pan from one of the cooler lines. I need to take it in. they left some compond on the carbon isert that was hard to get off. there was a slight alinement issue on the pasenger rear valance that I fixed myself as I had dealerships body work.

at 3k it had not even dripped off the belly pan there was just a little spot.

trannies and blower are outsourced so it is more of an eaton qc issue there.

having a major deal like the blower sucks but it is a comonent and as long as they fix it nothing wrong with that IMO. my 08 Z51 had a tranny failure second gear synchro at 170miles but that was a tremec issue not GM.

everybody wants waranty but them doesn't like it when they are forced to use it I guess.

almot every new car I have ever bought from any brand though so far has had 1 or two small things that needed tweeked.

I only have 1200 on it, so I don't want to totally blow it out quite yet. It's also 105 in Austin, so the heat is really beatin on the car, AC is a must, etc.
But, people definitely check it out, and want to see what it will do against their car.
There are so many bad assed cars in Austin, nobody's scared. I've been hit up by M3's M5's, a ZR1, several GT500's, and the other day an Aventador blew out the pipes to let me know who was boss. I couldn't argue with that last one.

LOL...forgot to mention that the front mud flaps....the plastic ones that are in FRONT of the front tires are now getting replaced because they are pulling away from the front fenders.

Reading through this thread I made note that I don't ever want to purchase 2012 ZL1 # 565 or 2013 ZL1 #3553 if I see either of them offered for sale.

Knowing I would not be driving my 2013 IOM ZL1, I spent a lot of time looking it over the day it arrived at the dealership before I arranged to have it carried to my garage. The paint and ECF and bright wheels were all perfect. Panel gaps were very even, although the driver's side of the hood was a little low. I let the engine idle the whole time I was inspecting the car, then crawled underneath all sides of the car and didn't see any sign of a fluid leak. My buddy Mark (we call him the flaw finder) looked it over too, and he thought the finishes were great except for the hood being low on that one side. He suggested that we adjust it rather than expose an otherwise perfect car to a dealership employee.

However, now I'm concerned that I won't know until the warranty has run out (when I start driving it years from now) if it has any of the mechanical problems that I have read about on this forum. Why couldn't you guys keep that stuff to yourselves instead of adding to my stress level and worries?
you don't have to worry bout seeing #565 for sale but if it ever was it has all new stuff from parts to paint.

So with those with paint chipping, why didn't you get the 3M clear bra when you first got the car? Worth every penny if you ask me. Got it on my car on the whole front bumper, part of the hood, mirrors, and the gills. No chips at all.

Hood fitment issue fixed right after delivery, hood was significantly lower than fender.
