There's no neighborhoods near my school. Only thing really close to it a hotel, which I can probably park there secretly but it has a chance of getting towed

You simply CAN'T keep people from screwing with your car. There will always be jealous jerks, or simply assholes who don't respect anyone else's property. The best thing to do is to drive a beater to school and save the Camaro for when you can keep it secure. And if people know you're particular about your car, which most of us on this forum are, they will make a project out of screwing with your car. Good luck.

Just park it like you fit in. If anything happens, I am sure the school has parking lot cameras. Ours does, but some of them don't work. If anything happens to it, report it. I wouldn't park away from other people or double-park because that just draws more attention to your car. Just go with the flow, and if something happens, tell the school. I am sure they will find out who did it.

Had a buddy that did this, he had a 1969 SS396 Chevelle in high school, rarely drove it to school though. I think his family had an extra vehicle, old truck or something, sitting around, that's what he normally drove.
In the other hand, , another buddy had(his dad did) a 1950 some odd Willys roadster, a model A, and a 1970 Pontiac Grand Prix that was bought new in 1970 and garage kept original all the way(had to carry a case of lead supplement in the trunk for fill ups). Anyway, this guy got to just wake up and drive whichever of the three he felt like.

This don't be dbag. I had a brand new 04 mustang gt in high school and i never had any problems, same with a buddy who had a 02 camaro SS. As long as your not a dbag and go off showing off or bragging about your car you should be ok. And never ever ever say your car is better than someone else's.

I feel you. There has been a guy where I work that sporadically goes into the employee garage and keys new cars. The latest happening two weeks ago. Every night at work I worry for a bit. Sad thing is this is the second person to do this. They caught the first one a year ago. He was a poker dealer.

I'm going into senior year and drove mine to school for half the year with no problems, the kids that get there cars keyed are the ones who show off or are douches.
But in all honesty, id be more worried about some idiot hitting your car on accident, this one kid in my school hit 4 or 5 parked, YES PARKED, cars through out the school year.

Are people just assholes nowadays or what?
I drove my 69 Camaro SS to school everyday in high school (78-80) and nobody messed with it. We didn't mess with each others cars back in those days. |

People are the reason I don't drive my Camaro to work. I work nightshift in a part of town I don't fully trust, so I drive my 2003 Ford Ranger instead. If you have another vehicle as an option to drive, maybe a parents car or something, I'd drive that. Then after school and on the weekends you can enjoy your Camaro. ![]() I know it's not the preferable answer you were probably looking for, but that's the safest solution, if you are truly worried about your car. I don't really think adding cameras as security to the car is worth it. Cameras don't prevent theft or vandalism, they can only catch the guy after the damage is done. It certainly does kill me to leave my Camaro sit without driving it for a couple days sometimes, but when my night off comes, I drive it anywhere and everywhere...lol. It is such a shame that we live in a world where you have to worry about some jerk damaging your property and possessions like this out of jealousy or disrespect. Instead of people thinking, "Man, that car is nice. He must have worked hard to get it. Good for him ," most people today have the mentality of, "That car is nice! He must be rich. I hate rich greedy people. Why is he rich when I'm not?! He deserves this damage I'm about to inflict on his car..."![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I had the same problem with my car. Im 18 now going into college and the best advice i can give you is to be friendly with everyone and dont give people any reason to dislike you even if they are jealous of your beautiful new car. I was nervous too about parking at school but in the end when i graduated i was known as the kid with the nice camaro haha. People would always ask me to keep them updated with any new mods lol. Just be nice and get straight with any people you believe might harm your car.
