That's a good idea, although i'm usually prety good at letting the clutch out right in the knee... No smell and no spin. I just don't know what to expect on a prepped surface.

WTF!?!?!?!?!?

I am away from the boards for a few days and everything goes to hell in a handbag. You guys just wanted to upgrade, thats why you found something wrong with your engines, right? Please tell me that is it and if not I do not want to hear it.

Axis,
There is no such thing as good brakes and no dust. You will have to pick one or the other. The happy medium that I choose for the street, fronts, are the Carbotech Bobcats. They are not the greatest but not the worst, they are street pads. If you track your car with certain groups, or say you do, you can get discounts with Carbotech.

BTW... Don't phuck with the monkey!!!!!

Anybody happen to see Nascar this weekend @ Watkins Glenn? Wow, now that was some cool racing. When they showed the shots from the front bumper I almost creamed myself. Granted I watched the broadcast late last night but it was still wicked cool. Makes me yearn for Road America.

The drag strip is like sniffing glue, it's cheap, it's a decent buzz, it doesn't last long and they are all the same.
Road racing is like China White Heroin, the buzz is stronger, the high lasts for hours, it's extremely addictive and they are all different.
I can't wait for my next
Track fix.

Me too.

That run is from almost 2+ year ago.

At the time I was in the teens on the list but obviosly folks have been practicing and getting faster thus bumping me down the list. Plus, since I do not really go to the 1/4 track anymore I do not have any chances to improve on the times. Oh well, I will take the twisties any day anyway.

Yes I have. I adjust my car accordingly to the tracks I go to. I may soften/tighten the settings on the coilovers or sways or tire pressures to get the optimum runs out of her. But for the street they are set in the middle so I behave myself.

Ya I messed around with my coilover settings this weekend at the track but was wondering if the settings on the sways made a huge difference. Loved them!! First time on a road course with sways and coilovers wow they sure were awesome.

Now if the brake pads were cheaper and lasted longer. Lol

Auto Club Speedway. Was a freaking blast. Last time I ran Saturday and Sunday with a stock car and this time I ran both days as well. This time I had PSS 275 all around and sways and coilovers with some good brake pads. Knocked my best time down by almost 6 seconds but my over all laps were way faster. This time it was a lot hotter out which played a big factor in me not going below the 2 min goal I had but was still pretty happy with the results. Road racing is sooooooooooooo effin addicting!

I really need an oil cooler though. My temps were to high and my oil pressure dropped. Damn these upgrades to hell lol

Yea, I need one too. Have you put in something like RP's water wetter? It does help with temps on the cooling side. I may look into that over the winter if I decide to keep this one and not buy the Z.

There is nothing like good brake pads!!! Coming down a long straight and just STANDING on the brakes and the car just STOPPING!!!! I have graduated many times when it comes to pads. I love my setup now. I just rebuilt the front pots with RB's kit and threw in the SS pistons. Then got some TI backing plates as well. Combine that with Cobalt Friction XR-1 pads and I have NO problems on the track.

If I do an oil cooler I may combine it with a diff cooler as well. I will then upgrade the RAD so the tranny gets better cooling or get it a separate cooler as well.

I am just about to sign up for RA in OCT and can't wait. I need to start planning for it now. You are right though... it never ends.
