If it makes you happy to pay that extra $1000 for the extra 3 hp, go for it.

Paying $1400 for headers is insane IMO when almost $1k is profit.

I purchased ARH headers and could not be happier. Did I overpay, not in my eyes. I got a quality made product made 100% in the USA. Whenever I can buy something made in the USA instead of some cheap, foreign build product I will. I want my dollar to stay in the USA whenever it can, more people should do the same instead of trying to saving a few dollars. If more did that we'd have better quality products and more US jobs!!

It isn't always about extra hp. People spend more money for particular brands because they want the best quality or they are more comfortable with that brand or for many different reasons. I agree that for each size header there probably isn't any significant difference in power between all the different brands. But the difference in quality and finish is definitely recognizable. Is it worth an extra few hundred dollars? Not to me. But it is absolutely worth it to others. Even if there aren't any extra gains over a cheaper brand. It isn't always about price and hp. Some people show their car and need nicer looking headers. Some people race their car and want top quality well-known and respected brands. Others just want whatever is the best brand. Nothing wrong with any of that. And there is nothing wrong with those of us who just wanted a nice set of headers that didn't cost more than a few hundred dollars.

It doesn't matter to some people. Ted's CAI test had multiple people there and was streamed live for everyone to see, yet some bashed his test because the ones he didn't sell at the time didn't do as well most hoped. If someone doesn't agree with the test, they'll find a way to discredit it.

Sorry to get off track but I found a shop in Houston that will install ARH headers and do a custom tune for $2000. Do you think thats a good deal? Price includes headers/cats that will fit my after market exhaust.

I think you can find better pricing. Get with 62NAlide and see what he thinks. This is his area and hook ups.
My personal opinion is you can get a set of TSP's installed and dynoed for a little over $1000 and then spend the rest on other mods.

My suggestion to those people would be to build a bridge and get over it. Lol

My thoughts exactly! I spent a couple weeks looking at headers, picked a set, and now I'm happy! Now I spend my time looking at my next mods. I try to help guys looking by sharing what I liked about mine, did a full write up and review but that's it. Everyone knows the "good choices" just pick one based on what you have seen and move on. None of them are going to be THAT MUCH different. I put LGs on my Vette, then the pfadts came out. Better headers IMO but I didn't switch them! The guys that NEED those few extra hp are VERY few! Pick a good set and don't look back!

If you're doing it in the Houston area then shoot me a PM. We've been looking at headers, but can't decide. This would help clear it up a little.

Then you need to find out where everyone gets the stainless from. I wouldnt be surprised if a few of these exhaust people are getting the same tubing from the same manufacturer in china, korea, or whtever.

I can tell you there are companies that do claim to be USA & using stainless from overseas.

All I'm saying is if you guys want to do this lets get a bunch of respected members of camaro5 to do it with me. That way when all the long tubes make very similar price even though some are $400 & some are $1000 nobody will shoot me and call me a liar. :P

I just don't like smoke & mirrors. If I tell you the VVT4 camshaft makes 100 flywheel hp its because it does. I'll put it on the dyno anytime & prove it.

When someone claim there header can throw a football over those mountains only to find the customers don't see those results unless they were magically installed at the shops facility it just gets old....

Agreed, too many in shop claims. This is across the board on items beyond headers. I respect a shop willing to take the time to test their own products head to head vs everything available. Speaks volumes, stop the BS and support the research, us as consumers always win when things like this come about.
