Okay, stock vs. stock gotcha! Hey, I just noticed you're in Mt. Pleasant.... I'll have to be on the look out for an Orange Camaro!

I've got a Black G8 GT..... Hopefully I'll see you at a light....

I do like that Orange color....

Ninjak, 35k-36k seems to be the going rate for 2ss/rs camaros. I don't think as many dealers are marking up the price as you make it out to be.

That depends on where you live. I can tell you in the middle-Tennessee area, this is what the prices look like at MOST (90%) of the dealers. Those that are offering cars at or below MSRP have already sold all of their allocations, so you're stuck with the gougers.

Dang right about that. It was actually impressive for the Camaro to stick with the Mustang the long. Not sure if they said it or not but was that with or without launch control enabled?

I would love to see the Hennessy Blue Devil Camaro run that race. Might rip the hubs out of the alloys.....

Yeah, It seems so. The few dealerships that have camaros In north Jersey haven't marked up at all. But damn, 48k for a camaro? I'll just take a vette/gt500 instead...

But as a side note, when these cars are out with full production come september october, there won't be any markups and you'll actually be able to negotiate the price. So when it evens out, you'll be able to get a camaro, for less then a 2010 mustang gt, just not now when the demand is so high.

this thread is pointless... we all know the GT500 is faster than the Camaro SS... we also know the GT500 is a better overall car than the HPE550... so why continue to debate it? its over... Ford makes a more expensive stock car that runs/drives better... GM will eventually up the ante with a Z28 and the debate will be tipped the other direction... and so the circle of Ford vs. Chevy will continue

congrats on the win, Ford.

What Garage said. In S.FLA area, the Camaro's around here have crazy markups. I drive my lil ol red ranger to the dealership and I inquire. Out of all of the major chevy dealers in the Miami area, and some in the FT Lauderdale area I have looked, the cheapest I was offered was 39k for a 1SS.

Every 2SS started at 41~45K. When I explained that a GT500 cost about that at one dealership, they tried to tell me because the Camaro has a IRS, 6spd, and Bembro brakes, it will be twice as fast(stock) as a GT500...or even a Vette. Thus the price.

WOW

I have been looking for my own curiosity, and a good friend is looking to buy the Camaro.(He has a 4th Gen Ultra Z (?) Camaro).

If someone at a dealership told me that, I would turn around and walk away. haha, that's ridiculous. I didn't realize how lucky I am, the markups around here aren't bad at all, the only problem is finding one that I want, and having it there long enough for me to get to the dealership.

Fact still remains more dealers then not aren't being all crazy. Just because some live where they are acting like that doesn't represent to whole country. I got mine for GMS price and even with my IO accent, sunroof and IO paint I stickered at just about 34,000. And there are plenty of dealers here in Michigan selling at stricker or GMS pricing so yeah, just because some dealers in your networks are asking doesn't mean people are paying.

And most here refuse to by over stricker and if they do at the most is a grand. But if you were to pay for a 2SS with no options at stricker you still end up paying around 36,000-37,000 depending on what your state taxes are. So get this dumb thought that Camaros are overpriced just because a couple people here and there have them that way.

Keep in mind too that those really high priced ones may have those GM accessory 21" wheels and tires at the rip-you-a-new-one price of almost $5K!!

I got mine for about $1,200 UNDER msrp thanks to the credit union program they had going and the fact I was pointed to a dealership accepting it.
