arodr395. ok thanks. well the msrp is 37,950 , so if i offer 33,000, thats 4950 off. they have it priced at 34,300 now, but again, its middle of august and a vert and a year old, build date. but they keeping 1500 rebate . now i wonder if gm will up it when the current rebates expire 9/3. i am on chevy.com trying to get my 1000 private offer

The pricing was released here first. On that sheet shows everything from MSRP to dealer cost.

Use it as a reference when negotiating. When I say $600 above... What I mean is their numbers don't match up the numbers in that thread.
I figured that's what you meant. My dealer gave me a printout from "GM GlobalConnect" which is where they order the vehicles from, and the numbers on http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=303745 are the same as the build sheet they gave me. Also the only reason why I am okay with paying the advertising fee is because they said they would pay my first month lol.

Why would they keep your rebate?

Seems good to me, but what do you mean by "they keeping 1500 rebate" ?

well the price they lowered it to, 34,300 i assume they keep the rebate. should i negotiate the price to 33,000 or 33,500 and i keep rebate? i wonder if they will given the invoice (with dest 900) is 36,259. i thought invoice price, less rebate of 1500 would be somewhat decent, but i was going to offer less given the car was made a year ago.

As long as your getting 4,000-5,000 below MSRP, then your good. Also the incentives get applied to the final price of the car, you don't keep the incentives lol.

I forgot where I heard this but I heard its like for every month the car sits on the lot thats $100 they should take off the price for you. so on a car thats a year old thats atleas $1200 they should be taking off. so invoice - $1200 and then whatever other incentives YOU should get... they shouldnt keep any rebates. If you are due a rebate from GM that's your money.

thanks arodr395. ok, this dealer holdback and other stuff baffles me. i just thought invoice was the main number to look at. this is scary when you spend so much money and just want to be sure i am getting a fair deal. i also have 2300 gm card rebates i can use too.

so the 1500 rebate doesnt go to them? i figured 33,000 price with them keeping gm rebate on a 36,259 invoice (with 900 dest) was somewhat decent. then i have another 2300 GM card earnings i would take off of that. and i still wonder if this vert will give me problems if i buy it, but fact its sat outside for a year, maybe the top has been tested!
