I'm in the market for LT's I was going to buy some in the next couple of weeks but I have a chance at a set of CTS-V brakes for a good price. That puts me off a month or so. It gives some time for this test to go down. I'm all for it...

If you need to start a fund I'll donate some cash.

Honestly... Just go buy headers. We all know what the outcome of the test is going to be. This test is to shut people up, not expose some incredible header.

Not too far at all. I ate lunch just down the road from TSP and ate dinner at the Big Texan in Amarillo.

Probably right but if it comes down to two of the brands I'm looking at and one Jade a few more HP/TQ or the TQ comes in earlier and the price is a wash which would you rather buy.

I agree whole heartily that no one header is that much better than the other to pull off a set and replace it with another but if you are going from no headers to some LT's than this test just might be worth waiting for

The differences between them fall into the margin of error when you consider tuning, weather, and dynos. The goal is to move more air. Make sure you have a good intake and decent longtubes. Then mess with valve events to cram more air into the cylinder. Noiding out on headers is a waste of time.

Agreed. But if there is a shoot out on the horizon the info won't hurt . The grand scheme of things the Stainless Power headers should be up there as far as bang for the buck. The stepped and the tri-y designs intrigue me though. I'm looking to do everything possible to encourage TQ production. If one of the aforementioned designs encourages that enough to justify the extra cost than I'll spend it. Otherwise I keep my money and get the SP's...

As long as you buy premium headers, not the cheapies, you won't be able to see an appreciable difference.

I took a different approach than most- My installer/tuner has a stellar rep, and has done lots of Camaros. I let him choose the longtubes since he had to do the work. I've personally installed long tubes in the past that didn't fit right and had to pound the crap out of them to make them fit, never again.

He likes ARH, so that made the choice easy for me. I would imagine others would do just as well. There are a few threads about fitment issues, I steered clear of those headers to be safe.

The Stainless Powers are the same as the Stainless Works at a substantial savings they are just built off shore for Stainless Works to offer something more affordable.

The info definitely won't hurt. If you're gonna get headers in the next few weeks, then you probably might as well wait for the test results. Me personally, I wouldn't be able to wait. And like thahemp said, the differences won't be significant and will all be due to weather changes, small changes in tuning, etc. We all know that no one particular brand is gonna come out as superior over the rest by 15-20 hp. They will all most likely be within the same range.

Actually, I would love to see how the "cheapies" stack up against the "premium" headers. And I would hope that honesty and integrity would hold up against popularity. Because if a no-name brand set of $300 headers from Ebay make the same or even more than a top name brand, I would hope for that info to be truthfully presented. Of course, again, I know this test is more of an actual gains vs advertised gains type of deal. But consider that the cheapos advertise 10-15 hp gains while some of the top brand companies are talking about 40+hp/60+tq to the wheels. I think the results will be more than surprising. Hopefully the OP will spring for some cheapos. They're only like $250 shipped!! Those may turn out to be the best bang for the buck after all, lol!! Imagine the uproar if that happened...!!

First I don't think the test will ever happen. So far none of the vendors or manufacturers have seemed to want to participate with the exception of Texas Speed. I had suggested in another thread for every SS owner to contribute $5, maybe $10 and most of the headers could be bought especially if the manufacturers would be willing to sell them at cost to show how their product performs. If they wouldn't, well......after the test the slightly used headers could be sold and most of the money recouped.

Second I would love to see some cheapos too in the mix. Most probably aren't aware, but....

The fastest NA, stock cubed car on here (Ryan's aka Rhino) runs what I believe are the cheapest headers made for our cars....

My source doesnt sell the 2010+ headers anymore so I cant contribute. I'd throw out a couple bucks just to see the outcome.
