Just weighed my Camaro and...
This is one heavy pig! I have a 2011 Camaro 2SS/RS with sunroof.
So far for weight reduction I have: Forgestar F14 wheels Removed air compressor, Removed all engine covers Headers Catback Car weighed in at 3880 with 1/2 tank of fuel!!! On order is a Braille 21lb battery and lighter brakes. Not wanting to sacrifice too much of the creature comforts of the car. Sunroof must add a bunch of heft to the car. Any more ideas? |

Removed all the engine covers? How many engines do you have?

That is what I was thinking That could be the reason why the car is sooooo heavy. J/K OP, we know these cars are beefy.

Manual or auto? If manual you can get a lightweight clutch. I would take a look at Doc's thread. He has done an amazing job with weight reduction. It is a great read.

Doc did some good reduction, he has a list of items he changed/removed and their weights.
Mine last time was: I have since put matching 18's up front, I know I lost 22 lbs there. I have a 15 lb battery to install, that would be another 25 lbs. Also cut off the rollerskates. Maybe 3700 w/o me is possible.

"Heavy Chevy" used to be a term of endearment back in the 60s/70s... not so much anymore. Just a simple fact. These hogs are heavy!
