Well then, somebody start developing a gear set! Then we'd really have a reason to complain about underhood noise.

Again, I did not say that the timing chain issues were directly correlated to the oil. There are more important things that need protection than the timing chain but from all the technical aspects a lot of the failures have to do with heat from insufficient cooling.

Im just spreading the word about the differences in DI and regular fuel injection.

Agreed,I see that you did not directly indicate timing chain issues were directly related to Oil's,but some people might get that idea reading this thread.

I am going to stick up for Mobil 1 though, there is no valid reason to "skip" it's use in DI engines, especially since it holds the #3 spot in independent laboratory testing as the OP shared in post #1.

I also believe the new LT1 will be factory filled with Mobil 1,someone correct me if I'm wrong...of course the timing chain is short

Again,I believe GM needs to manufacture a more robust chain for these OHC engines.

Like I said, and others as well, check out the UOAs. I know that the one guy here has a had a few good ones but if you drive the car hard, IMHO, I'd skip over the M1.
