Toby called me this morning, and gave me some new information. I've been in Mexico since the beginning of last week, so I have some catch up to do on info. This is what I found out...

1) I won't be taking delivery until at least the middle of august due to the SS/Manual issue
2) The issue is related to Launch Control being too hard on the output shaft

Personally, I'm not in the angry group of people waiting. I've been waiting long enough to get the Amercian Muscle Car of my dreams, and would rather it be free of defects and perfect. .....I know, I know.....first year model will always have issues. I knew this going in, and expect issues to arise after delivery. However, the more they can work it out at the factory, with the most experienced people working on it, the better.

yeah he called me today and told me 3 out of 4 cars were realeased today for shipping.i was hoping yours was not the 4th one.Im sorry to hear that.

I saw her yesterday... It's sitting there waiting for you to take her home and make her ready - the right way. She's got a bit of rail dust on her, but she's a beauty (not that I am biased toward IBM) and the first one that I have seen with the RS badging. Very cool... and congrat's to the new owners!

Thanks, I hope they are not letting anyone near her or in her like Toby said they would do. He also said he would wait to have her cleaned up when he knows I am on my way up there. We are Leaving South Padre in the morning, but with a stop in San Antonio for the night. So I will have to take 1 more day off work to go see her.

Here at Classic in Grapevine we do not leave the "stickers" on the Camaros, we realize you guys want them as clean as possible and the front license plate holder is left in your trunk, from there is up to the customer..... Thanks ALEX R

Yeah, he told me the same thing. I know that Nexus6 and I are two of them that made it out of Warehouse-13 and now I know who got stuck. I wonder if the last of Toby's Camaro owners (with a built M6 Camaro) is on this forum.

Speaking of Toby -- I can't speak highly enough of that guy. He has bent over backwards to keep me informed about my order... AND... he has never once told me something that wasn't true about my order.

It's no wonder that Classic Grapevine does so well. The ONLY way that I won't buy all of my future vehicles from them is if they can't match the $$$ that I am willing to pay.

Thanks Alex for clearing that up for me.. that was something ive been wondering for wks now..

Question.. do u know by chance how long it takes for the phone call that your car is going into production.. i ordered on May 26. i know they build the cars in batches, so its been two months so i know it has to be coming up pretty soon.. the est.of arrival is sometime in Sept.

I've only waited 20 weeks and still no call. But I'm optimistic maybe in a few weeks? Hang in there man. Depending on how many are included in the next round of allocations you might be in my group! Woohoo

I wouldn't stop at *not* having the dealer sticker or license plate bracket applied. I would have everything left on the car except the foam blocks on the doors (and I'd want to remove those myself) *as well as* make sure they didn't even wash the car. I mean freebies are great and all, but I opted to skip free swirl marks in the paint.

My rep @Classic was Todd Crosby, and Todd was great about it all.... once that car got there, I got the call and everything from that point forward happened with me either in the car or with it. Check the link in my signature for more details.

Thanks! Very helpful indeed. Is it easy enough to tell if there are imperfections in the paint should I elect not to have them wash it?
