When you say the face, you really don't mean that do you? You mean the entire black part of the wheel, spokes, center hub face etc.---- right

Does it last for awhile on wheel? Do you notice black paint on the rag when you do it. Some of these cleaner waxes take off quite a bit of the finish.

Not trying to be negative at all. Those black wheels drive me nuts keeping them clean so I'm just trying to see if you have found a good thing here.

You need to get a brush for cleaning the inner barrel of the wheel. Adams has a brush that won't mess the wheels up. I bought one at O'Reilly's that has been serving me well. Beginning of car wash routine is to wash wheels first with brush for the inner barrel and microfiber wash mitt for the outer face and make sure you get the back of the spokes! Finish off with hitting the calipers and wheel wells. I do it religiously and mine always looks new.

This ^^^
I use something that looks more like a microfiber sponge on a stick. I found it at Advanced Auto, Walmart or similar.
Wash cold with same car wash soap as the rest of the painted body.
Rockers, lower panels, diffuser then wheels and wells, then start with fresh bucket and do the rest of the car.

I enjoy cleaning the wheels. I spend an hour on them before washing the car. Just don't let the water dry on the wheels. I have the tire and wheel kit from Adams that includes three brushes: wheel, lugs, and wheel well. Each is different.

http://www.adamspolishes.com/c-55-de...g-brushes.aspx

I also have a barrel cleaner that fits a rechargeable drill called

Adam's Turbo Stick Wheel Cleaning Tool

And I have a wheel polish from chemical guys that is very easy to use and makes the wheels look great called;

Chemical Guys WAC_303 - Wheel Guard Rim & Wheel Sealant (8 oz)

I've bought and used only once so far.

It's quite a process but wheels look great after

Great Ideas All

Thanks to all and the OP for starting this. I will grab all of what you guys have said from the adams stuff to all the other suggestions.

I ordered opticoat and was planning on doing a full detail for each wheel,(Off the Car) including wheel wells. First clean and then opticoat the wheel and calipers and wheel well liners. I figure since it works so well on the car paint( I have a black car and the opticoat has made my life bearable), that it may help minimize the work. What do you guys think?

Every 2 weeks I take the wheels off and clean the barrels, calipers, wax the suspension and clean the fender liners of road dust. I use Adams quick sealant on the wheels, it's good stuff.

Using a cleaner on these wheels is a terrible idea for the long run. Will undoubtedly have uneven shine on the wheel using any kind of cleaner or wax not suitable for a satin finish.

When y'all clean the wheels what do y'all do about the fine coat of rust that forms on the brake rotors? I've tired several methods.
1. Let it be then, but then the next time you drive the car you have rust colored brake dust all over the wheels.
2. Wash the wheels the take for a quick spin then was the rest of the car.
3. Wipe down the rotors down once finished washing.

Doesn't seem like there's an easy solution

After washing I drive around my neighborhood 1 lap before parking in garage. This gives me a chance to find all the water that comes out during driving and hit any missed wet spots.

Oh Well, now I know for sure

"That you guys are all nuts". Well atleast that's a quote from my wife. I plan on doing most everything that you guys have said. Never listen to the wife anyway. Hope she doesn't see this.

Hell she didn't even want to drive cross town to the Camaro meet on the west side of AZ, the City of Surprise. But she came. I threw a hamburger down her throat. She mumbled something about, 'This is as bad as when he had his 69 GTO.

Opticoat coming soon I'll let you know with pictures how they look and give long term update on how it works.

Another question. I have Gorilla lugs on all the lugs. Do they rust easy or are they finished well?

Good question - Anyone? I just ordered the Gorilla lugs to complete the black and add a little anti-NJ security
