I agree with the fall being a great time to drive, but the wife is due in just a few weeks so I think my season is about to end early. lol

I am about to replace my fuel pump in my DD as my fuel gauge isn't working and I might as well just replace it all while I am in the tank. Question I have is it as simple as remove the old pump and install the new one or do I need to make sure that I have the correct fuel pressure after install?
Watched a couple Youtube videos and it shows a master mechanic using some fuel gauge that he connects into the fuel line under the hood after replacing the fuel pump. I just need to know is it necessary or should I be alright if I just skip that step.

A call for help:
Anyone in my neck of the woods want to run my car a bit and see if it feels right? It's a bit sluggish and I can't do a burn out. 0-60 is like 6 seconds with simulated 1 foot rollout and the car makes a loud fan noise at idle and reverse. Not sure what an auto ss should feel like. It's tuned. Iowa falls ames marshalltown mason city waterloo

Yea I was. Heat really bogs these cars down?
Hmm 5.5 0-60 now at 65 degrees and half tank fuel. Ill see if the dash computer says anything when it's making noise. Im running in S mode.

Thanks for the info!
Went back out on a flat remote highway. Dynoliscious reports (with 1 foot rollout) 0-60 5.37 60' 2.42 @ 35mph 1/8 9.8 @ 80.4 A couple around that time and several 5.4s I tried runs where I increased rpms before going but they where all worse. I think the program starts early from the motion and also tire spin. Just taping the brake solves the burn out issue. Now I view tire spin as the enemy.
