I just don't get it. What is it with Mustang guys that hang in the Camaro forum and bust peoples balls about how great the Mustang is. I've never even been on a Mustang forum, nor do I have the time. They must be satisfying some sort of insecurity about their purchase. That's all I can figure.

Oh please... don't feed me that line.

The Ford vs Chevy rivalry has been going on for decades. Hell, it is the AMERICAN thing to do to want to one-up the competition.

Anyways, it is also the American thing to do to provide a fantastic car at an affordable price. Ford has done that with their Mustang GT, but I feel that GM has one up'd them by giving the public more bang per buck with the Camaro. In that regards, Chevy wins. However, this race is up in the air for next year, as Ford will be reintroducing that 5.0 engine.

Now personally, I think GM is an utter failure as a company (see my sig), but I still think they actually did something right in essence with their camaro... though execution leaves something to be desired.

Man I expected the GT 500 to do better with all that power but for .1 sec at 13k more, the car is meh, the Camaro is way better for the money and looks better for sure.

I don't mind you and find it amusing, but don't try and pretend like you aren't. Come on, with signature quotes like "They made the GT500 to destroy the competition, too bad there isn't any," you can't honestly say that you're not here to annoy some members who are a bit too sensitive.

Now with that said, I find your posts amusing, but I call a spade a spade.
So know you're calling me a liar and/or disingenuous with the comments that I post. Nice. Would you say that to my face?

As for the past signature post, it was simply a quote from one of the plethora of magazine articles comparing the GT500/Camaro. Just because I rib folks from time to time does not put me into any sort of fanboy bucket. If some people have thin skin about such things, that their problem, not mine.

So getting back to your point about the camaro mark ups....they all end at some point, and being that the camaro is going to be mass produced, it won't last nearly as long as the gt500. There really is no reason to say that as a negative factor, it happens to all brand new cars when demand is high...Hell look at what it did to ps3s, xbox360s, and nintendo wii's, They were all marked up by sometimes 100 percent! now you can get them all for around 250. Its only a matter of time before ALL camaros, even the ones in your area, are for sticker or lower.

Same here. I spent a week driving the GT500 and its an awesome car, but it's also 30% more expensive. And I just love the massive 6.2L V8 in my Camaro.

I will agree Swat. The only point I was stating in my 1st comment on price is that it seems EVERY dealer....within 50 miles of me, seems to want to sell the car at crazy markup prices. It happened with some of the Ford dealers as well when the Mustang hit. I know sooner or later the price will go down....does that does not help my partner out...

Haha and he is to much of a GM Camaro Loyalist to come to the Blue Oval Though I will say his current camaro is bad ass and I have never beaten it....close, (bumper) but heh winning is winning rather its a inch or a mile.

It would just seem IMO with GN current issues, and the economy, that the dealers here in S.FLA would wise up and just sell the car like it would seem the rest of the country is doing. Alas, that is not the case here.

Yeah, between the problems, the wait after ordering, or having the luck to find a 1ss the way I want it, I'm seriously considering a leftover 08 or 09 gt. I just don't know if they have enough on the top end.

HAHa easily solved !

Goto my car domain and take a look. In my sig. You can get a 08/09 in the low 20's .... heck even here in the MIA You then go to Roush, Whipple, Saleen, (to keep warranty) or KB, ATI, Vortech, if you do not care, or heck the Turbo companies, Hellion, Turbonectics..(2 best so far) and you slap it on. Then either a Boost a pump or a GT500 feul system. (depends on power).

Anything over 410 RWHP I recommend a BaP or the GT500 system if you want to grow, and of course be safe. Just IMO.

You then get yourself a set of LCA's a bracket to if you lower the car, a Off road X-pipe, and any Cat back system. I myself like Magnaflows.

You would have probably spent about 8k with that..cheaper if you can do it yourself, and you now have a high 11's low 12's GT.

My list.
Saleen Blower Supershaker 4600
KB Bap 249
L&M LCA 110
Magna flow X Chamber Side exhaust 300
Fr3 Springs. (stiffer:same height L&M really) 210
Fr3 Suspension Kit(sways only) 230
BBR Tune 400

Grand total: So far: 6099

The Kit you see I was able to get in the price...I installed it myself Haha dealer thought he was going to make money with putting it on for me...I loaded that sucker on my truck and drove off. Rims I swapped at dealer as part of the deal.

I have ran 12.3@116. I need tires. The Nitto's are not cutting it.

Doing it myself and having a very unique looking Mustang here in the home of the Fast and Furious: Priceless.

I'm not asking this for arguments sake; I'm just curious. Why does it seem (like this thread) that there are a lot of people on here with a lot of posts and they drive mustangs and other cars. It looks to me like there area a few people that post often and they have no intention of buying a new Camaro.

I just find it odd because I would never regularly visit and post in a mustang forum. Not that I have anything against them. If I couldn't afford a new Camaro I would likely buy a Mustang and throw a Kenne Bell on it. I'm just curious why one would take the time to come here often.

For me its for knowledge. I like cars. ALL cars. I like to know what is and what is not. Plus as Mr. Connery said in Red October...

Yes, yes I certainly would. I don't know why asking if I would say it to your face changes anything. It's certainly what I think is going on. It's obvious what you're doing but it doesn't bother me.

What's the current signature quote about anyways?
