check engine light went on. code p0174
hey guys so i just bought a 2010 camaro ss manual. the check engine light came on and i brought it in to get scanned and it came back saying system too lean bank 2. there is a aftermarket borla exhaust on it, noweeds exhaust diverter system, and CAI. I asked and checked around and i heard that it probably is an o2 sensor problem. anyone have any information on this? thanks

I recall reading about issues related to 2 different types of MAF sensors for the SS's. Just spit-balling.

Check for exhaust leaks pre to the o2 sensor. If there is no exhaust leak swap the o2 sensors between the banks. If the problem switched to the other bank then it is the sensor.

The previous owner said it has happened to him before and it went away after awhile and he said its probably the tune. How come the tune affects it?

If it is the tune, you should get the error on the other bank too (P0171). But as long it is on one bank I advise you to check for vacuum/exhaust leaks then sensor.
You can do some datalogging to check how the sensors voltage switching between rich and lean, response and performance. Also comparing the two banks. |
