"transformer" plastic cover........
I like the less looks better. The car does run cooler W/O the transformer box.

Mine is all painted up pretty, but off it comes for the drag strip or the road course. hex vents and heater hose re-location this winter to cool engine bay.

I took mine off a long time ago and didn't notice any ill effects. Now, it doesn't fit anymore =(
