Without the filter isolated from the engine bay and the tube being uncoated metal, isn't this really a HAI? How is the tube/filter suspended?

What about the shroud to keep engine bay temps out? Is this just a replacement parts for those with the Cold Air Inductions intake?

The picture on their website shows just those parts installed. If it had a heat shield and a thick ceramic coating on the inside of the tube it would be interesting, but probably the same price as cai.

My thoughts exactly where is the box? If there isn't any box/heat shroud than its just an expensive way of adding a cone filter.

Its kind of a cool idea, but like we all said, where is the heat shield and is the tube ceramic coated...if not its a waste. Secondly, if it does come with a heat shield would that be painted too or would that be the aluminum/powder coated look? I think RPI is trying to jump the gun to quickly before getting everything figured out correctly.

I'm just not so sure that they can add the items to make it a cold air intake and still hit the target price point.

Outside of the obvious heat issues, I still don't see any method of securing the tube. Even if you tighten the hose clamps enough to keep the tube in place, wouldn't this put undue stress on the intake manifold TB screw inserts over time?

I have a G5CR air intake and I had to put a metal strip just under the filter and attached to one of the EOM screw so it would'nt move. A 50 cents mod. But I have to mention that I have a Nickey Chicago Stinger hood that has a functional ram air that brings fresh air directly to the filter.

This one looks alike but is not the same material quality than the G5CR. Not even close. I don't like where they put the clean side PCV tube just before the throttle body. That will get some oil into it.

You might have success with making a heat shield for the tube as well. I have DEI silicone spray and their Titanium header wrap that I wanted to try. Was going to put a thick coating of silicone down, let dry and then wrap all exposed tubing. But I no longer have the intake I was going to try that on.

That's a good idea. Just to elimnate confusion. This is not any of the competitors designs or parts. This is slightly different than any other intake available. Tube size, harness plug location, filter material, no box, etc.

We've had a lot of guys asking about a box, or heat shield. We are looking at options to do something of this nature, of course it will not look like anything on the market if we decide to make a shield. If we do add a shield, we'll call it a stage 2, price will need to go up as more materials and labor to assemble the kit.

Thank you for your interest. Again, this is not pieces together by any other intake available on the market, this kit uses it's own pieces, made just for this kit with a high performance generic air filter for optimum performance.
