Small issue with my JDP halo kit!! Do you hav this too?

Hey guys....I finally got my JDP motorsport color changing halo kit installed. I didn't post any pictures because I'm sure you guys have seen enough JDP kits on here, however if you guys want, I can post some later.

Reason why I am on here today, is to reach out to my JDP brethren and ask if they too have the same small issue that I have. When you select white for the white LED to light up, the light you see in the Halo is not a pure white like the factory LED is it? Because mine kinda appears lavender-ish/purple-ish...if I increase the intensity/brightness of the light, it seems a little whiter...however its still not a pure white like factory LEDs. It still has that significant hue of purple in there.

I look forward to your feedback!!

You'll find a lot of JDP owners have this same issue. The white is not "white". It has either a blue or purple (ish) tint to it. Mine is a purple tint. I never use the white. It just doesn't look that good. Green, red, blue, cyan, purple, orange and even yellow all look good. White does not.

Oh yeah....we don't need to see any pics of strictly the JDP kit (like you said) but it's always good to post pics of your car if it's modded or you have some good pics to post. So....post some pics of the car if you've got 'em!!

It is due to JDP using a RGB LED.

The "whiteness" of an RGB LED depends on what the designer sets it to.

Our kit and NightOwl's lets you set your own version of white. We have several choices, NightOwl is, basically, unlimited.

Yes it's not going to be pure white. Ofer was going to make something but don't know where that stands. Maybe SJM and Nightowl have it figured out. Only thing with my JDP is the yellow, orange and maybe white r not matching now. Got to get the box off and send it back.

This is a touchy subject that I would rather take offline. Anytime one vendor tries to explain the difference with another vendor's product, we risk being banned, and sometimes for good reason. If we take this offline for your case, there is no risk to me. You reached out by email to me, so I'll respond there. But since NightOwl was brought up, I would like to say that our system allows extremely fine tuning of white, or any other color. We have billions of different shades. I realize that nobody needs that many colors, but sometimes taking out 0.1% of red may make the difference of obtaining the perfect shade of white. Actually, we can get basically down to 0.04% adjustment on each color. Other RGB controllers on the market don't go below 0.25%, while some others don't allow any adjusting to the colors.

Thank you very much for the reply Joe@NightOwl. Do I NEED NEED an iOS device to control the color of light on your kit or is there an alternative way of achieving what I want? (Because I have a Samsung Note II)

Also, you didn't tell me, if I upgraded my JDP kit with your master and module unit (Upgrade kit), would I still be able to control my light color to the degree you claim I should be able to which is 0.04% or I would need the complete NightOwl RGB color halo kit to achieve the level of color I am looking for?

I look forward to your feedback!!

Please PM or email me for further freedom of speech if you see fit.
