Car show was fun. Met some cool owners and told them about camaro5. It was actually a pretty big show. Maybe 15-20 camaros with 3 gen 5s. Lots of firebirds, mustangs, etc. quite a few older cars.

Well I got tagged for a 65 in a 55 zone this weekend. 1st ticket in 10 years. Haha. I was actually doing 70. I will take it as a blessing that I got pulled over doing 70 and not the 100+ about an hour earlier.

Unless they've changed the law again, 25+will land you in drive improvement class (same as 3 tickets in one year) and your license will be on probation for one year from the completion of the class. Double the speed limit will result in loss of license. Toys like ours can teach us some hard lessons in our youthful years.

BTW, it was a friend on his motorcycle that got the double the speed limit ticket. But I've personally endured driver improvement class and a year of sissy-footing it. That was 10 years ago now.

Yeah, I hear you guys. I got caught being bad. No biggie, I will take my slap on the wrist. I have heard other stories about licenses being lost. I don't plan on getting any more speeding tickets. Haha. How long do they stay on your driving record, 5 years?

via the Iowa DOT website.....

Countable moving violations: Includes all moving violations except the first two speed convictions within a 12-month period which occur in speed zones between 34 mph and 56 mph and you were convicted of speed 10 mph or less over the posted speed limit. A moving violation is defined to include all violations not specifically excluded by Iowa Code § 321.210. (Examples of excluded violations include parking violations, failure to appear, equipment violations, registration violations, or disturbing the peace with a motor vehicle).

It won't count on my record but I'm sure my insurance will still raise.

Morning fellow Camaro friends......

Enjoy family, friends and not worry about situations or stuff that is not really important.

As I was on my way to the (Ankeny location) Bob Brown Chevy show Saturday morning, got a call from a distraught appliance dealer friend (Marshalltown) that she found her husband dead late last Friday afternoon.

Just the prior weekend we had dealers dinner outing and turns out, the Wednesday he caught some strand of pneumonia, and died Friday. Yup, we are all stunned!

So my reference to situations or stuff..... I drove my 10 Camaro that Saturday on a 2 mile plus long gravel road, and she was black car that looked like a old farm car when I got home late Saturday night.

Really didn't give a crap.

Tim

Firefighter, where do you live? I'm down in the southeast Iowa are quite often.

Sorry for your loss Tim. Besides family, good friends are some of the hardest to let go. 2 years ago today my grandma lost the battle to cancer.
