Yes,

I had never been pulled over except for speeding until I got my Camaro. I got pulled over shortly after getting it (temp tags on) for my windshield having a tiny bit of icy dew on it from the night as I was just leaving for work at 7am. He told me it was obstuction of vision. Then a few months later I got pulled over by an unmarked cop in upstate NY for doing 80 in a 55 he said. I had my cruse set on 74 Because I knew that I tend to speed if I dont and I also knew it was 65 until we got to the bottom of the hill. I let him know that and he got mad... said he was off duty an wasnt going to write me a speeding ticket even though 74 in a 65 was "way too fast" and proceeded to tell me that I would be getting an illegal lane change ticket because I forgot to signal when he was pulling me over until I was already moving towards the shoulder... I waited 30 minutes for an on duty trooper to show up to write me a ticket. Then just about a year ago I put an MRT 1 exhaust on my car. I dont drive fast around town or anything, I have no reason to draw attention. I was pulled over by a local cop who didn't even see he me just heard my exhaust and said I was doing at least 100mph on a back road. I didn't even accelerate to the speed limit of 50 before turning into my friends house. I was given reckless driving and failure to yield because I pulled into the driveway. I was also pestered a few weeks ago by another local cop because my front plate was too low on my grill...(I have a jac-fab bracket) He wrote me a ticket for that of course. After going to court all but one of these tickets was dropped completely and the one in NY state was dropped to a moving violation. The only ticket on my record still is a speeding ticket from like 7 years ago. So yeah... I would say the car draws unwanted attention of cops for no reason at all. It is what is it.

Ha, I got pulled over today, but that was my own fault. I was turning on to my street and as I did I realized I had just cut a police car off and made him stop short! He pulled in behind me, I stopped, we had a short conversation about how dumb I was, and he told me to get the hell home and have a beer! Never even asked for my license...my lucky day I guess.

Got pulled over for green fog light halos. Not a law that says there illegal. Went to court, and the judge cleared it. Cops hate cars that are different or flashier than the rest. They become an instant target.

I'm genuinely curious, what insurance company even accepts 8 tickets?

Unless they are moving violations I doubt they are reported to the insurance company.

Yes, they have. One for breaking the law. The other for a loop hole!!

I drive a bright colored Camaro. So it is easily spotted if and when I break a traffic law. So one day headed out of town I was pulled over in my IOM when I was going a tad bit faster than the posted speed. Saw the cop sitting in the median facing the southbound traffic. As I approached I saw his wheels turning in position to come after me. After I passed him he pulled onto the road and I got in the left turning lane immediately. I pulled over on the shoulder after I turn left. As I waited for the cop to come to my driver's window I had gotten everything ready. Conversation as follows:

Officer: Why did I pull you over? Driver's license and registration, please.
Me: Yes, sir. I was a little bit too spirited on the gas pedal.
Officer: Do you know the posted speed limit?
Me: Yes, sir. It is 45 mph.
Officer: It is not 45 mph but it is 50 mph. It is 45 mph when coming into to town. 50mph leaving town. I'll be right back. Hang tight.

The officer goes to his patrol car. I knew I was getting a ticket. Couple minutes later he returns.

Officer: Everything checks out. So I am giving you a written warning.
Me: Yes, sir.
Officer: Please keep it down and have a great day.
Me: Yes, sir. Have a great day!!

The officer returns to his patrol car and I put things away. I then continued on to my destination. Very much slower!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Another time I was pulled over because of my plate. A month earlier I had gotten a new custom plate from the DMV. So now you have to wait to the new plate arrives before taking off the old plate. What happened is that I was helping a fellow stranded Camaro owner. In the process of helping my car was facing her car in a left hand turn lane. Another person had got some gas from the gas station. After the gas was in the tank the Camaro started right up. Conclusion was the her gas gauge was faulty. So I got back in my car and proceeded home.

A mile of two down the road I noticed a cop behind me. As I approached the intersection I got in the left hand turn lane. So did the cop. When the light turned green he turned on his lights. After the turn I pulled in the gas station. The officer comes up the my driver's side window. I just had the windows tinted so I can't roll them down. I showed my hands and opened the door.

Officer: What is the reason your window can't go down?
Me: Sir, I just had the windows tinted.
Officer: Can I get your driver's license and registration?
Me: Yes, sir.

Officer goes back to his patrol car. Couple minutes later he returns.

Officer: Well there is a problem with your plate.
Me: I am waiting for my new plate to arrive, sir. It is ----- a Disabled veteran tag.
Officer: That is what matches. Do you have the paperwork for that plate?
Me: No, sir. It is at the house.
Officer: Next time have that paperwork with you.
Me: Yes, sir. I will.

Then we chatted for a bit. He was an active reservist in the Air Force. After chatting I headed home. The very next day the plate arrived!! LOL!!

I am always calm and respectful. Cause it goes a long ways!!

Congrats? Side note, doing odd jobs around the neighborhood, baby sitting, and things of that nature don't really count. Now, even if you have 3 ACTUAL jobs, such as working in offices, working in stores, working for a company, then still: Congrats?

I had 3 jobs from the time I was in High School until I graduated from college and got a full time salaried one. But 400 a month for insurance?..... I'm torn between being speechless and calling you an idiot.

I absolutely love my Camaro and think cars can be just as integral to some people's lives as a pet. But I would not have mine if I had to pay 400 a month for insurance. That is 4800 a year. Just to put this in perspective: Saving that for just 2 years would allow you to take a trip of a life time backpacking through Europe. It would allow you to have a massive down payment (especially if you saved longer) on something even longer. Or you could just use that money taking trips with friends.... Drive across country, going skiing in Colorado, take cruises in the Caribbean.

Point is, you are working (maybe... depends on the job) a lot, and paying a ton, to have a nice car at a really young age when you could be using that money to save and put towards events that will make memories that last a life time.

Last note: If your insurance is 400 a month because of your driving, then this just backs up what others have said -- it's not the car, it's the fact you drive like an ass that gets you pulled over

Keeping my fingers crossed, I haven't been pulled over in the ZL1 yet, which surprises me.
When I had the '96 Z28+SS, I was pulled over twice in the 1st couple of months. Once by a cop who said he just wanted a look, the other gave me a ticket for 80 in a 75 zone. He told me about their Mustang chase cars, but he didn't have one.

But I have had cops check me over at stop lights or whatever, and a couple thumbs up!
