Excited to see what will be the outcome of either LMR or IPF taking on this tuning project

Hi Jeff,

Thank you for your enquiry

"I have been following a thread on the llt cams...I am positive we will have better luck. Hopefully the installation will go smooth and the car will be cammed soon."
We are positive that everything will run smoothly, nevertheless we will provide you with full support.

"I was wondering if you guys would help with getting these cams tuned? That would help out tremendously."
Unfortunately at the moment we do not offer a tuning service for these cams because the tuning side of things is still under development.

"I run a Trifecta tune now and have the EZ Flash cable."
Trifecta Performance will not be able to provide a tune for our cam package. However EFI Live providers will be able to provide a tune to suit.

"Also, I plan on shooting video of the when completed. You are welcome to it if you want it."
Awesome, please keep us updated!

If you have any other questions please do not hesitate to ask

Kindest Regards
Dean

I don't get it. I thought we knew a while back that trifecta wouldn't tune the cams?

I thought that was if Rx did the install.

I didn't or I would not have bought trifecta tune. New to forum and all I keep seeing is trifecta tune, trifecta tune so I bought it...Thankfully some other companies are willing to offer solutions to tuning these cams with their own as well as with Trifecta software and hardware..

I know they are selling their software and hardware to other companies. One person even said there is another company named trifecta, I dunno. I do, however like the Trifecta Tune alot, I just wish they could offer a tuning solution. Regardless of who does it the cams will be tuned after installation.

Oh didn't see you were new. Yea, before I made that purchase I'd have posted a thread to ask for opinions. The reason there's so many trifecta threads is because until maybe a year ago, trifecta was the only tuning option for the LLT. No one else could do it besides them. Then IPF came about and offered another tuning solution.

edit: just saw you have a 2012. I DEFINITELY would not have bought trifecta for the LFX. I would have just taken it to a reputable tuner and gotten a dyno tune from them instead.

If I'm not mistaken, Trifecta has completely cut ties with pretty much everything LLT non-bolt on related. They won't tune FI or Cams regardless of who's it is.

Yea but you can't really blame them. I mean a vendor drags their name through the mud by offering products as "turn key" that are in fact far from that. I would've have done the exact same thing. Cut ties to everything and do as much damage control as possible. I know in the cobalt tuning circles, people rave about them so it's not like they don't know what they're doing.

They've always sold their software to other companies it's just that it's really not worth it. Almost everything that trifecta can tune, hp tuners and efi live can as well. There are only a few cars trifecta can tune that hp tuners and efi live can't (ie the LLT). But the investment required to buy the software from trifecta isn't worth it in some business's eyes so they don't get it. As far as I know, the only shop I've heard of that actually has the trifecta software is LMR.

No sorry but I'm sure you could get some good recommendations in the regional forums. Btw, in case you didn't know. If you are going to be getting a tune from somebody else, you're going to have to revert to stock before that. And you also might have to go get an update from the dealership for the software

I was under the impression I can flash it back to stock. What software update may I need from the dealer?

Yes you can flash it back to stock but the way the trifecta software works is it's created from the ground up. Even when flashed back to stock, it works almost as a "firewall" so to speak. It sometimes won't allow other tuners access to the ECU even when flashed back to stock. A software update from the dealer wipes this.
