Thanks for the feedback folks - and Lol nope not trolling here - guess you just had to be there. I think the speed limit was 55 so it wasn't a fast highway, and the guy flew up behind me, passed me, then flew up the road at about 100 I'm guessing. The embarrassing part was that I'd JUST been talking to my wife about the superiority of the Camaro, we actually ended up laughing about it, just funny that one minute we're deriding the stang and the next, the guy leaves us in the dust.

Folks I'm a newb to the sports car world so bear with, but I had no idea how much faster a V8 would be compared to the V6. To the guy who posted the YouTube video, thanks! Glad to see our V8s can hold their own.

Many types of cars do fly-bys with me all the time. Don't get drawn into racing them. Some type of import passed the car behind me and myself yesterday on a stretch of road (two lane) that is prone to accidents not to mention I saw 2 state police with radar guns the day before in the same area.

I get challenge quite often by ricers while driving my Z. I don't even give my car any extra throttle when that happens. I figure why bother wasting more gas???

although I will say this. I had a WRX run up on me last year when I had my Maggied SS and I was seriuously impressed at the balls that WRX had.

Sounds like you was cruising when he came up quickly in your rear view (already going faster than you) and just simply held it to the floor while passing you. Heck I could have done that easily in my V6 and even if you had hammered your V6 as I passed you, you wouldn't of had a chance and I'd be gone.

On many on ramps around here I can get up to around 80 - 90mph (easily 90+ if the merge is downhill) before even merging on to the road. By the time I caught up to you on the road I'd be doing 90 - 100 mph and leaving you in the dust.

Yes, the V8s are very fast, but you sir didn't get spanked. He just blew by you like an ass.

+1 ... I raced an STI with 18psi and a full exhaust against my stock Laguna Seca and I had him by fender. Good thing the guy couldn't drive for shit since those things are trapping around 120++ with those mods lol

Maybe it WASN'T a 5.0...maybe it was a forced induction V6. Or maybe he had a V6 with mods. OP never said it actually was a 5.0. LOL, and just because he flew by you doesn't mean he was racing or trying to race. I could see if he stopped, looked over at you, and then gassed it. Maybe he was in a rush. And as far as picking on V6 Camaros, we all know that the SS is virtually identical to the V6 Camaros...especially at night and from behind unless you have super vision and can see the teeny tiny SS badge that sometimes looks like the RS badge if the Camaro is RS equipped. In the right gear at the right speed, an car can literally fly by another equally fast car. An SS at 40 that drops into 2nd will straight up destroy another SS that drops into 4th or even 3rd at the same speed. OP was cruising in his car and he admittedly has little performance knowledge. A good driver in a V6 Mustang that knows what he is doing could tear him apart easily. Hey, you win some, you lose some.
