I've had 3 people in my car (myself and 2 passengers) and that is the max. Nobody can sit behind me unless they are a small child. My seat is almost fully back and there is no legroom for someone behind me.

Once I drove from Las Vegas to San Diego with 5 people in the car, cost me a blown rear shock, LOL.
Replaced under warranty.

One time in my old 2001 ranger extended cab I fit 7. Three in the front bench seat (40-20-40 bench seat style) 3 in the back seats ( 2 side seats and one on the floor in the middle) and one laying down in the bed! Lol we had to get home from midnight bowling! Good times. It was easily 1500 pounds worth of people meat

In my camaro I prefer 2 max but one time I had to let two girls sit in the back....
