Help me make this work!!

I'm installing a Zex system this week (installed the bottle tonight) and I'm trying to figure a good spot for the switches. I had an extra set if dash trim leftover from my last upgrade and thought it would be awesome to mount the arm switch and bottle opener switch on the dash trim to left of the steering wheel. It looks bad ass, but looking into space behind the trim piece there is no room for the switch itself to fit.

I need a switch that is shorter on the back side that will fit inside the dash trim and fit with an airplane switch cover. It's not the biggest deal (I'm mostly excited about nitrous) but I think it would look too cool.

Yea, you're not going to be able to mount the switch there unless you cut it open or something. I wanted to mount switches there too but after seeing that there is no space there, I had to change it.

I'm thinking about making a small sheet metal box that I could mount there. Nothing that sticks out too far, but enough to allow clearance for the switches. Im going to pick up some 90 degree disconnects as well. Also, I'll paint it black and put white stripes on and hit with a coat of clear. Hopefully it'll look good, cuz I don't want to give up on this spot.

It's as scary as it is satisfying.

You can mount a switch there, I bought a small round Sw.from AutoZone, I had to trim the leads, but it fits.

Where did you run the wiring behind that? I'm thinking I'm going to drill in between the bolt and the hole that the left tab fits in.

I did drill a small hole and feed the wire down.

Its a decent idea and placement.
