I just ordered my Camaro a little while ago and wanted to know if the LS3 will get taxed? I'm hearing and seeing a lot of different numbers and answers so I thought I try to find out what the most recent news is.

As far as I understand for the tax it must be at least a combined mpg of 22.5

It's the old #s, not the new, lower numbers. It barely makes it over the bar.

I was wondering though if the car is a manual how will skip shift work?

Skip shift is only on manual trans cars, 6 speeds.

Skip shift blocks you from shifting to 2nd gear if the rpm's are at a preset spec., usually a very low speeds. This is nothing new, my 2002 Trans Am had this feature and it drove me nuts till I got the SLP skip shift eliminator. Just a wire harness that stops the solenoid from blocking the 1-2 shift. The dash light still came out but 2nd gear was always available. By blocking I mean you could not get it into 2nd gear, you had to go to 3rd or 4th, anything but 2nd.

On the gas guzzler tax, its usually is on auto trans cars.
