Just don't understand with 5 - 6 years of testing before they start production. Why there are problems one after the other.

1 post... drives toyota... I guess you wouldn't understand. Plus thats a bit strong, "One right after another"? There were 2 real issues, the battery cable which was addressed very quickly, and this issue which appears to be a batch of bad parts due to the metal. Could (and does) happen to any car. Tundras snap a crank shaft! M3s had full engine recalls...

Not to mention the Nissan GT-R Launch Control issue...

Someone posted awhile back that they were hearing noise when engaging the clutch from 1st to 2nd gear... Isn't it common for ANY manual to make noise - a bit of clanking going on under there?

I'm hearing some minor noise and it's making me a bit nervous....

It's not related to this being the first year of the car, nor is it an engineering/planning/research failure. Tremec, the same company that provides transmissions for cars such as the Dodge Challenger, made a bad batch of parts. See this post from earlier in the thread:

Horriffic luck for the Camaro program. How can it be that the T56 and now 6060 have been absolutely BULLET PROOF for almost 2 decades now, and right when GM introduces our new Camaro, a bad batch of trannys gets produced?!?! I own a Viper also, and have not heard of this over there. BUT, the Viper has been out of production for a while now, and they were building so few of them right there at the end, they may not have received any of the bad trannies. Anyone have any insight into the Corvette world to see if THEY are getting bit with this???

I see you drive a Toyota.

Perhaps you need to go and look closely at Toyota as well.

All manufacturers have problems. That goes for every manufacturer.

I'd be interested to know how 5-6 years of testing would find a bad batch of subparts in a supplier's part.

Is Toyota beginning to get nervous? They should be.

Easy now, We've made our point.

Appropriately and effectively, I might add.

I'm currently #1 on the list at my dealership for placing my order.... My car is a CGM LS3 equipped manual (obviously) SS/RS... My dealership has told me that he cannot order my car because of the constraint even though he has allocation. I think a guy a few spots behind me that had an auto jumped in front of me and like 2 others that were wanting M6's....

so what gives? I don't see why in the hell we can't place orders just because of a constraint???

any info on why this might be fbodfather and what is being told to me by my dealer is 100% accurate???? cause i'm tired of waiting to get my order status into the 3000's.....

Thanks for crushing the rumors and trying to calm net rage. You have your hands full.

I really value your input to understand what is going on.
Thank You for being a part of this forum.

I was number one on my dealers list and after 7 months my dealer finally got his allocation the same day 6 speeds were put on hold and had to give my spot to the number three order. Just my luck.

I look forward to your updates on the 6 speed.

So, do we have a new day in which GM will release a VIN range that have faulty transmissions?
