oil viscosity change ?

Hey i guys i have a tuned 2011 ss with Vararam and Magnaflow Catback and looking forward to installing headers soon, but my question is do i need to change my oil viscosity after installing ?? i've heard that u have to change for modified cars..

From what I have read, your needed oil viscosity is pretty much determined by your oil temps. For a daily driver, there is no need to change. Maybe if your tracking your car and see elevated temps. If your internally modded, I would change to an oil with higher levels of zinc. Still running a 5w30 but with higher levels of zinc. Check out this link. It's lot of information, but it's good info.

What you are doing are not really mods, what they mean by mods are either boosted engines or internally modified engines. You are fine with what your using.
