I hate to say this, but I'm looking at your datalogs and your converter is acting like a 3200.

Here's what I mean:

The 2 datalogs I have of camarojt's car, his 3600 Circle D converter shows peak tcc slip at like 4000rpm on launch. IMO, he's basically got a 4000 stall, and has cut 1.5x 60' times.

My old car had the 3600 Yank in it and consistently had peak tcc slip around 3800rpm, so I pretty much had a 3800 stall and was cutting mid 1.6x's.

All 3 datalogs we did of your car tonight show a peak tcc slip at 3200rpm, and you ran pretty consistent mid 1.7x's.

Maybe someone that knows a little bit more about torque converters than I do can confirm for us that tcc slip on launch is a decent indication of actual stall rpm of a converter?

What brand converter did you get? IDK a lot about them but I do know yank is a tighter converter than circle d

Should be.

Idk for sure, but sounds like the difference could be the fact that he has a 2800 stall that has been restalled? Vs you had a 3600 stall. So question is... are there differences between the two?

Doesn't Stall Torque ratio (STR) come into play in this situation? I think the Vigilante in my Formula has a 2.45 STR. Just a shot in the dark here but maybe that'll get someone's wheels turning.

I flash the stall by launching at idle, about 1000. I seem to get my best 60's that way. I have tried to launch at a higher RPM but I seem to lose a lot of boost that way. I believe my best is a 1.56 with a Maggie.

That is what ticked a bunch of us off that went to Dallas Raceway last year when they were trying to do test & tune and bracket racing at the same time. We got there at 8 Am and left at 5 PM and I think we were able to get 2 runs in. The track people were acting like we were just a pain in the arse even though we paid good money.

That is why I dont go to the tracks when they are trying to do 2 events at the same time.
