Just an idea on how much better the ls7 heads and intake manifold flow over the ls3s almost 500rwhp on a puny futral cam and not touched bottom end(376 ci) http://www.gmhightechperformance.com...y_intake_test/

And also take a look at this build I'm liking how my odds are looking for a mid-high 500hp number is looking my can is slightly more aggressive and I would like to say my heads are a bit better he does have .55 more cr though.http://m.ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1430350

Unless you want to maximize your setup and funds are not an issue, then I'd go with some TFS or TSP heads. If not then I'd just do a cam only my friend.

Save the money for some Dr's and axles lol. Those gears with a cam are gonna be murdering your rubber lol.

Jack cobra...umm 50whp? No. Lol.

In previous topics of heads...so I'm not crazy...I was looking at that article...seems like switching the top end to ls7 would be way worth it. Just more $...right? Lol.

It might feel that way but I doubt it lol. A TB will only yield you better throttle response. If you really want to know what a TRUE 40hp feels like? Get a set of Long tubes and a tune.

You got it bud!! $$$& king cash lol

TSP's small bore Ls7 heads and you'll also need different pushrods and of course an Ls7 intake. BUT the gains with a good cam and the right compression would be bad AZz.

Wasn't there issues with the valvetrain on the OE LS7 heads though?

Yes sir, but those are the OEM Ls7 heads. Those heads won't fit our blocks, you'll need a minimum of 4.125 bore.

Tsp's small bore heads are the ones that will fit our blocks but they don't have any issues.

That sounds like a good idea. I am wanting to put 18's on it with some DR's I might just focus on that and a good clutch and possibly axles and see where I'm at before I mess with the heads.
