Hello from across the pond

Hello, I thought id introduce myself before asking to many questions, im Anthony just turned 25 from not so sunny Southwest England, I am in negotiaions with a dealer in Texasand ready to order my brand new Camaro 2SS RS.

Im going the whole hog and ordering the upgraded wheels, sports exhaust, stripe package in rally yellow for the bumble bee look.

I run a company in the UK building AC cobra replicas and currently own a high end model thats running a 383 stroked chevy supplied by the engine factory. I hope I am as welcome here as you would all be on our UK cobra forum.

Anyways my question, due to our legal requirement I have to convert the rear lights of the camaro so that it will have orange/amber indicators, is there anywhere that supply the clear lights or a european spec tail light that allows me to split the brake and turn signals and have the indicator as an orange/amber light. I laso heard a rumour that the new camaro has a coded wire system which needs a control box (smart box) wired in to allow the splitting of the light circuits as you cannot simpy cut and rewire the lights as I did on my 2002 F150 when I imported that.

I would be grateful of any info you have so that I can get this amazing car on the road over here.

Look forward to getting to know some of you soon

Welcome. Can't wait to see what the Top Gear boys think of the Camaro. Something tells me it will only be of interest to Hammond.

Im talking with a dealer close to the cheapest shipping port for my shipping agent. One thing that bugs me though is the car has to be registered before it can be shipped which puts 6.25% state tax extra on it and il never ever drive it in America. Add that to the 10% import duty and 15% tax when it hits the UK and my lovely Camaro will be your equivalent of $60000.

Im guessing by your signature you could hook me up, wow get me only been here one post and im learning the lingo already ha ha.

Im in Taunton in SW england and thankyou all for your welcomes so far

welcome and i'm sure you will be able to get what you need because most of the CTF cars down under had the amber turn signals so i'm sure there might be an option for you that you can get through your dealer

I shall do, another question regarding the lights, am I right in thinking that a canadian spec car has amber lights and they are split from the brake lights its just our eu rules are so tight this could make or break me getting the car on the road here.
