I don't see many places the ZL1 would have the advantage.

Actually, with the GT 500 reference brought in, there are places where the ZL1 trails the ChiliCart, and the longer the track with relatively fewer corners, the more the possible advantage goes over to the 500.

Where in the 'Ring might the ZL1 outrun the Z/28? Anywhere that isn't tightly curved. The ZL1's V-max is greater, potentially, as is its weight-to-power (especially lb/lb-ft). The longer the "straight", the more that potential exists...

The ZL1: 4120 lb/580 hp/560 lb-ft = 7.10 lb/hp, 7.36 lb/lb-ft

IF the Z/28 was 3750 lb AND was tweaked to 525 hp: 7.14 lb/hp, 7.98 lb/lb-ft

In the lowish 7.30s would be a credible number. BUT...put those same Trofeos and the Pedders tweaks on a ZL1 and things would be interesting... And the Z/28 will NOT wallop a C6 Z07.

Realistically - low 7:30's

Hopefully - mid to high 7:20's

I don't see it out beating some of the cars on that list....

Beating the Mclaren MP4-12C on that track, and the Lamborghini Aventador?

I am hopeful for the Z/28's performance but the highest car with similar weight/power as the Z/28 is the Nissan GT-R.... That is a tall order as the GT-R put down a smoking time on the ring...

Another with similar weight is the Lamborghini Aventador... But beating that? Guess we will just have to wait and see.

Makes me feel more secure in tracking the forthcoming Z/28. Good work Chevy.

My second observation is that this is superb motivation to always have track insurance. I know the folks at Lockton Affinity, awesome people and product.
Sorry Z...I just moved it to the other thread...lol...

Makes sense :-)

Besides, the forum will go down and be restored with half the new threads deleted so it doesn't matter anyway! Lol...

Seems crazy to beat the ZL1 by any huge margin, but the tires are a huge factor.
