In the end I made $2K on my Corvette. Bought for GMS at about $39,000 in march 2007 owed $27,500 got $29,500 outright. Your rational is possible but you are playing the economy and trade game to your advantage. It may not work out that way my friend.

I've always been a vette guy. The problem with waiting is that I only have 1 car now, and I work. So my wife is stranded at home. So we kinda need transport now. Don't really wanna spend $$ on a beater either (if the Camaro was eligble for the CARS rebate I would). But we really need a car now.
I'm gonna finance the Vette for 35, pay $4k. So I'll owe 29k on it this time next year.

Not ragging on the Camaro, I love them! I want one, but first year models will always be worth less than further years. Look at the 05 vette vs 06 vette. Too many bugs.

So next year if I still want the Camaro, I'll trade in the Vette and get the Camaro.

The things I like about the vette vs camaro is the modifiable stereo system, performance, HUD, looks, and a little bit more exclusive.

Camaro I like the wireless PDIM, bluetooth, styling is great for a GT (rear quarter reminds me alot of ferraris) and the 4 seats.

I know we ordered the same day, but you were stuck in allocation land, I was an immediate allocation. You hit event code 3000 - 40 days after I did.

Viz gave me a code of 3000 with a date beside it: 08/03/2009. For my order number NKMW1W (2SS/RS package).

3000 status is: "Accepted by production control" but what does the 8/3 date mean?

Dealership told me "no more than 3 months" for delivery. I put my deposit down on 6/3 and my order was accepted 6/25. What is realistic?

Accepted means the plant has pulled your order for production. But hasn't scheduled it yet. Basically it's sitting in a pool of other orders, and once they get a grip of their supplies and constraints, they'll schedule you (3300).

Your 8/3 is your target production week. Your car should be built +or- 3-4 days from that date.

I really don't understand why GM is giving TPWs at 3000. Makes more sense to give them out at 3300.
