I'm still learning to PP. I find the rear camera causes me to park too far out. Can do it on my Cruze no problem without one but the Cruze is more compact.

Only issue I have driving, and most everyone can agree, is making a left or right turn. Not an ordinary 90 degree turn mind you. I'm talking about those 45 degree turns where the pillar is in the way of your vision.

It took me a while to get used to this, and now I just lean forward to see if traffic is coming. Other than that driving this car is like any other car to me.

Driving a roofing truck in the Queens/Brooklyn area here in NY gives you a ton of experience on the road!!

My passenger side mirror always faces the road and my driver always faces slightly off of the body in order to see more to the other lane in the event i'm in 4+ lane highway.

I have issues. Not with parallel parking, just in general. I still avoid it whenever possible. Side note: I do wish more cars had auto down facing side mirrors when put into R.

Because of the shape and "belt line" of this car, there is a limited visibility compared to.. say my jacked up work truck. It takes some getting used to and more reliance on your mirrors and just experience of where your nose, "hips" and butt are. You'll get the hang of it.

Backing out of a diagonal parking space with a car or especailly an SUV or PU on your right is driving blind. Anyone that tells you anything else if totally full of BS and they know it.

All you can do is creep very slowly back and keep your fingers crossed that nobody plows into you.

Yup!

The vision out of the rear and rear sides are of the 5th Gen are known to be bad. The price we pay for a really cool concept car that became a real car without almost any changes!
The first thing I learned when I started to drive (many, many years ago) was how to parallel park and I am real good at it.
That being said, it is still almost impossible to determine exactly how close you are to the car behind you without sensors or a back up camera.
I too tilt the mirrors down when I back into a parking space at a shopping center when there's a curb on one side or the other.
Hang in there, with practice you'll be getting good at estimating where the butt end - ends!

No back up camera or sensors (I want sensors though for night time) no issues just takes time. My family mostly the guys always back in so its second nature. Now what is funny when I park "regularly" I find myself slightly off ...

No troubles really. I use my mirrors. For curbs I get as close as I safely can, then turn the wheel all the way and bump the curb with the rubber to see how close I really was, then adjust
