Wal-Mart prices for Mobil 1
Does anyone know if the Mobil 1 oil in 5QT containers is different than other stores? It's only $25 for 5 qt's compared to $34 elsewhere. The thing that has me questioning is the packaging looks to be made for WalMart as it's stAmped "recycle used oil/filters at Walmart". This is stamped and not a sticker.
Anyone have any clue why it's so much cheaper?

Not sure what's up with the Walmart jug. I always buy mine (Mobile1 5W-30) from Advance Auto. They run a special every couple of months. One 5qt jug of Mobil1 and any Mobil1 filter for something like $34. Even with the extra qt (I have a 3.6L that takes 6qts) I come in under $40. That's not bad considering the filter alone is $20.

It's the same, just very slightly less oil. The Walmart jug is listed at 5qt's where the jugs elsewhere are 5.1 qt's. The .1 is hardly nothing in terms of amount.
The stamp you see is just notifying you that you can recycle your old oil at Walmart. I agree with snymat68 though as this is what I did when I used M1, now I use Pennzoil Platinum as it's scoring betting on oil la b tests. M1 used to be great, then they change the formula It still good, just not great.

It's the same oil. I know NAPA had a special going on for $5 a quart an Mobil 1.

I bought a few jugs from Walmart a while back and haven't had any problems with the oil. I read a few other threads on the topic and everyone agreed it was fine, just slightly different packaging.

I alwys get mine from walmart.....saves a few bux
Now I have 48000 miles in 22miles of ownership......no issues yet here
