Volant CAI??

Anyone have an Idea if they are in development . Ive used them in the past and like how they integrate an enclosed filter in their system. Checked the website but didn't find any info.

Funny this topic popped up today because i was speaking with the VP from Volant today and they are working on an intake! They have a 2SS in their shop that they are building for the SEMA show and he is hoping to have the CAI in production before the show so we should see them on or before the first week of November! Theres always the possibility they will run into some snags but it sounds like they are really pushing for this date. I too have been impressed with Volants products and have used them on my last three vehicles, this one wont be different. I already placed my order and as soon as i receive it i will post a review here.

Great news!!!

But can you please persuade that VP from Volant to use the PowerCore filter instead of the Pro 5 filter.

There are already enough plain cotton gauze filters (which you have to clean and oil) on the market.

I would be very much interested in a PowerCore unit, here is the link to the dedicated site and the general site (please delete if not in compliance with forum rules).

Its my understanding that all of the new Volant products use the PowerCore filter so no worries there. I will setup a group buy when the CAI is released.

Volant CAI

The 2SS is at Volant right now and I stopped by on Monday to see it, they just finished the prototype. Tony is also in the process of developing exhaust for it as well. Danny stated that they might do a racing intake specifically for highly modified ones to, and possibly headers!

I have to say that I liked the idea on the 4th Gens., however, it just seemed like the plastic and fit-and-finish weren't particularly good. Now, I will also say I'd not seen one in person, nor had one, but I was just going off of posts and comments by actual owners. I do hope they come to market too and see what they have to offer.

The more the better.

I purchased a Volant for my fathers 06 GTO and it was perfect. I loved it, made great power, looked very clean, and i the look of the clear plastic cover is awesome imo.

I would definitely buy a Volant again... cant wait to see their designs...

All new Volant intakes are designed around the Powercore. I will check up on this, and it's ETA.

Volant needs to send in a test unit for the greatest comparison test!

I hated the fit on my '02 Trans Am. It sat nicely on the radiator, but only one of the two braces fit in the factory holes. The plastic between the filters and MAF didn't fit at all and was constantly open. Nowhere in the installation docs did it say I had to drill into my car and go buy ducting. The filters obstructed the hood, too. I had spots that were slightly flattened from the hood closing on them. It seemed like they tested it on the Camaro and then assumed it would be fine on a Firebird / Trans Am. I imagine their new designs are better though.

Volant did wonders for my 01 Tacoma, it somehow corrected the damage that the K&N did to it. I can't wait to see what wonders it will do for our Camaro's!!!

We have the Volant intake on sale now..and they should be shipping over next week. Volant made this one of the best intakes on the market imo. It features the powercore filter you never have to clean, AND it has a neat enclosed box with a design that matches the cars engine cover!
