I always wondered why the vette guys like to cruise real slow in the right lane. I find myself doing that a lot now. I'm tired of every douchebag on the road wanting to race all the time.

And what's with the douchebags that fly up behind you and ride your ass? On the highway I never cruise in the left lane. Left lanes are for passing. I'll be criusing along at like 63-65 (in a 55) in the middle or right lane, nobody in the left lane, and a douchebag will fly up and get on my ass for a little while then all of a sudden make a big dramatic deal of going around me like he's blowing my doors off or something. Give me a f*cking break with these scumbags. And it's usually a minivan or huge PU truck, sometimes a rice mobile with a butt trumpet.

Or the ones that speed up to try to keep you from passing them. You're perfectly fine doing 60 mph when you're blocking a long line of traffic in the left lane, but the minute I go around you in the right lane to pass you, you turn into Dom Toretto, running it up past 90 to keep me behind you.

Yea I had one of those guys on the highway doing 70 in a 65 just cruising had to get into the right lane because it split into a north/south off ramp well this ass hat pulls up on my rear I don't really pay attention signal to get over there's about 1/4 mile before the exit he swings around me I think whatever just slow down he does to so I speed up he speeds up after slowing down one more time I had enough floored it just to make a point ended up taking the turn at 95 left dude way back there he was trying thought that cute little engine gave it all it had he did eventually he did pull a ricer flyby staring me down all pissed off like.

I haven't had many people try and race, BUT I did have an Audi S7 want to show me what's what after leaving the movies a little hard one night when a couple of kids were drooling over my Camaro. I'll say that I held my own, but definitely was losing. I didn't fully realize he was going to run until he was half a car up on me at the light and the second light (not even a quarter mile away) he lit out pretty hard. Of course if I had spent $120,000+ on my car I'm sure it would be wicked fast also, or at least it better be!

Key word in the above is modified but we get it; I won't get into the normal pissing match. Stock for stock its hard to beat. There are modified ZL1's, too.

Anyway, around here its hit or miss. Occasional crap car just messing around...I oblige under the right conditions. Its not worth jail time or scaring other people on the road. I have noticed that Audi and BMW drivers have a complex. Every so often something nice: M3's, my friend's Charger SRT-8, 300C SRT8, 500 series BMW (not an M), modded Evo 8 (he was quick). The couple Grand Sports and 911's I've seen don't want to play and neither did the Ferrari 360. Its all in good fun.

German car guys are the most obnoxious. I was minding my business in rush hour traffic on the way to work a few months ago when some guy in a Cayman felt the need to show me how superior his krautmobile was. He blows by me doing probably 90, quickly switches lanes to the far right lane and nearly kills himself when he tries to switch lanes into the side of someone that he didn't see merging on to the highway. He narrowly avoided hitting the other car and proceeded to drive 10 under the rest of the time. I ended up ahead of him and I tried to pull alongside him to taunt him by staying out of it, but he kept matching my deceleration as he was behind me - the proverbial tail between the legs. The guy was also old enough to be my dad.

But yeah, it just ain't worth it.

That was sorta my point...there's always someone faster. The guys with zl1's in my area just think they're the kings of the street but I've actually never seen one win a race on a Mexican highway with my own eyes.

I love the zl1 BTW..not jealous or hating on it...I've just never seen one win a race.

if you are in a hunt for consistant races on a street setting look on fb for your local car groups, we here in oklahoma have several and they are always measuring peen's against who is faster then the other, as far is getting into situations with people randomly wanting to try me, even working nights i have a person wanting a spirited run on the highway i generally ignore them unless it's a dead empty road.

Have the same problem it seems like when I had my 01 ss everyone wanted to race and it had a nice size cam now in the new camaro rarely get anyone to bite! But I do have some 05-09 mustangs with there loud pipes try racing and always get left wondering what happen
